Default C7 Convertible

Hello, I have a 2014 convertible. I was wondering if anyone out there has insight to these cars......are the convertible mechanisms reliable?......Is there any maintenance suggested either DIY or from dealer you experienced guys could recommend?

Thanks for your consideration.

I've owned the car for 6 years and it's been very reliable. I did have 6 of the fuel injectors go bad and had all eight replaced. $2500.00

I dare say that your six year experience should answer your question! Since the car utilizes hydraulic lines to raise and lower the top. I had a 2005 C6 power convertible which had 2 lines go bad.

Thank you for calling it a convertible and not a vert.

I had a 2007 3lt z51 m6 convertible for 10 years and 44000 miles not a single issue with the top hydraulics. My current 2017 gs a8 2lt with 31000 miles has had a hydraulic line failure a year or two ago. Took a lot of cleaning to clean up the mess but it looks ok now. Just as an fyi the extended warranty did not cover convertible top mechanism. Cost $1000 to get the line replaced..

Do not own a vert, but sure have not seen a thread about problems with the mechanism. Not saying problems do not occur, just I have not seen any posts about it.

There have been problems posted about the hydraulic lines leaking over the passenger seat. Very messy

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. May have my dealer inspect the hydraulic lines at next oil change.

Almost as bad as calling the OEM splitter a "poverty splitter"! (Apologies for thread hijacking!)

What is so bad about calling a convertible a "vert"?

The word ‘vert’ means green forest vegetation. To the best of my knowledge a Corvette convertible or any convertible ones not match that definition.

It is the same as calling San Francisco, Frisco. No one who lives there ever calls it that.

If you really want to diagnose any problem that might arise with your car, bite the bullet & buy the real deal GM repair manuals. They are not cheap but very thorough

I will take that a step further! A convertible can have two, four or more seats. A Roadster is a two seater Sports Car, with a rag top, made to go fast on twisty roads. I feel the only way I can do proper Homage to a Corvette is to call it a Roadster. jmho
