2016 rear deck lid will not open with the keys. Every time I turn the key the alarm goes off. I have tried both keys and tested both key fob batteries. From the strength of the alarm, makes me believe the cars battery is good, but can't get into the car to test. It has not been driven for 5 months but had the issued battery tender was hooked up.
Have you tried pushing down and lifting up the deck lid when you turn the key? Key are hard to turn and rotates about 60 deg to open. If the key turns with little resistance it is likely that the cable between the lock cylinder and lock mechanism is disconnected.

Key fob batteries need to be above 3.0 volts. New fob batteries are above 3.25 volts.
Just curious, have you tried the trunk release button under the facia right above the license plate and near the key hole? If the car's battery is good, it should open the trunk lid. What about the fob? Doesn't it open the trunk lid? Just not sure why you need to use the key
