Default Info screen issue

On the screen in my '16 there are shiny spots over the icons that were used the most by the PO and I haven't been able to clean them off. Do any of you have this issue and have you found a way to clean the spots off?

Thats probably the top layer or the screen being worn away by the PO. It is recommended to use the dial **** as much as possible to decrease the wear marks you have. Unsure if the screen can be deconstructed to replace individual layers or if an entire new screen will need to be installed.

I've read past posts where a screen protector glass is used, similar to this one, and possibly exactly this one -

Amazon Amazon

According to the posts I've read, the glass is sensitive enough to still allow fingertip swiping. Using it will provide a clear, uniform surface. Whether or not that will hide or otherwise obscure the shiny spots, I don't know.

^ worth a try. Otherwise, if the spots can't be removed, the rerplacement screen is a rather expensive repair.

I bought this exact item before my C7 was delivered and put it on the day I brought the car home. It was my first mod. I don't see previous smudge, but I did not have much that could not be cleaned off before I applied this glass.
It makes the touch a bit less sensitive but the benefits outweigh the negatives with sensitivity being the only thing.
It's smudge resistant, and I can wipe the screen clean easily with a cloth that I was given with my new eyeglasses.
It also updates the look of the screen to a more modern glass look and a lot less LCD look.
