Has anybody ever seen this happen? These are low mile tires date code 2019.
Thanks for any help!

Looks like damage from hitting a pothole and pinching the tire against the rim. I just had to replace one thanks to the bad roads in Northern California.

I agree. Sure looks like the tire took a really hard hit.

Not an uncommon "break" reported here... especially if driven when too cold, or nearly so.

Every Michelin run flat problem I've seen on here has an issue with the side wall. That's why I went with Bridgestone run flats.

On our 2017 Z51, we've had that happen twice.
Z51 wheels are very sturdy, one wheel was unharmed and the other had a bend so slight I couldn't feel it but eventually had it straightened many thousands of miles ago.
Some folks say the Michelin runflats have all the stiffness for run-flat capability built into the inboard sidewall, so the failure usually happens in the outboard sidewall. Both of ours were on the outboard sidewall.

OP has a Z06, the factory wheels on those are notoriously fragile. Even with aftermarket, he should have the wheels checked for cracks or bends.
Good luck!

User error. Not the tire's fault.

that was my original thought. My rear tire, also Michelin pilot AS Zp, just developed the same issue. If I hit a pot hole big and hard enough to damage the sidewall of my tire it should be big enough for me to notice it! I called a local tire store for new rear tires and was told they see a lot of this type of defect on Michelin pilot run flats with manufactured dates starting mid 2019.
I will be going with a different brand of tire.

Every Michelin? Sidewalls don't do that on their own. That is a pinched tire, maybe cold and a little low on air pressure AND a good solid thwack on a curb or pot hole and voila, split tire sidewall.

I've had that on Good Year tires so, EVERY Good Year Tire has that issue too.

Michelin tires on my previous Corvettes have not had that happen. I just must have missed the pot holes in Florida.

Back in the day, a company would just fix their screw up. Why not at GM?.... Cheap?.. GM management screwed its C7 customers with bad GM wheels. Well... That not gonna happen at Ford. 😏
