This was a couple months ago at a local dealer, Im not trying to freak out but, does anyone know how to avoid this? Slow it down? Was this a professional? Ideas advice?
I watched the video. I'm surprised the dealership didn't block the Corvette in by other vehicles. Instead, they left it completely vulnerable to theft.
The first order of business should be to protect by simple measures, perhaps by blocking access to it.

Reason: typo
Key fob signal blocker. Get into the habit of putting it in the pouch after you lock the car, even when just going into a store for a short time and they can't clone the key code any longer.
IGLA Anti Theft. Had one installed last week, blocks OBDII port, key fob manipulation and creation, and requires a PIN code to start the vehicle. Of course, it won't stop flatbed theft, but it does prohibit current electronic overtake methods.

Great system. Dont have it in my C7. Vettes are not a target here for now. Installed it in my Trackhawk. Stellantis is the target around here. Works great.
good insurance. you dont want the car back after its stolen. you cant keep it from getting stolen if the thieves really want it. its a mass produced car. get paid get another

I'm not. To the Corvette owner, it is the most precious thing in the world and everyone has to protect it for them. To them, it is another car. One that isn't worth all the effort to protect it specially. That is why they have insurance for such events.

I have good insurance and if it is stolen, I want them to take it as far as they can even if it is in pieces. I don't want to waste MY money trying to get it back. I want to claim the check and buy something newer and better. Obviously, I am not going to throw my keys on the dash in a sketchy area but I am definitely not going to try to find it back in the hopes you haven't gotten too far with the chop shop process. You take it, I call it in. I let the cops do their job, give me the report and hope like hell it stays away long enough for me to get the check. I don't want it partially disassembled or have to get things patched back. Kinda like a spouse. You go running off with someone, stay away forever.
All you can do is make it as tough as you can to steal the car, keep the car in a garage, keep the key fob in a faraday pouch, consider using an old school club type steering lock device, don't leave the car unattended in public places if possible

So are SS Camaros. I watched a segment on the news about that.
They steal them, take them to the next street takeover, and ditch them after they get beat to death or wrecked.
I feking hate thieves.

Why inconvenience myself with gimmick devices the insurance company doesn't even believe in enough to give you a discount to use them? They got more skin in the game than I do.
