Replacing backup camera?
Has anyone found a better backup camera then the OEM one? I have a 2019 Stingray and the backup camera is horrible when it is very dark outside. Yes, I know we all used to backup without cameras and with the quality of this one it is barely worth using in the dark.

True but we also used not to have toilets and used the outhouse. Toilet paper wasn't invented till 1857. I don't want to go back either.
Maybe not but it is fantastic in the day or dusk at least so it does have some use. Have you tried using some sort of headlight treatment, basically a fine polish to remove any scuffs or oxidation to make it clearer?

I think part of the problem also is that exhaust fumes/smoke goes up directly in front of the backup camera; not sure how much that affects the camera but it certainly can't help.

That was definitely my issue on a SUV I used to have so I had a 4-wheel drive shop install a small LED light kit connected to a rocker switch. That way I could turn on the extra lights when backing up at night. Maybe I need to consider something similar again (the light kit I used before were very small, not like large off-road light kits you see on trucks).

Maybe so, but that definitely does not say much. I had a much better camera in an old 2004 Acura I used to have.

In for some recommendations, but so far I do not have any major complaints about the rear camera on my 2014.
