stick remote under your chin. I put it pointed up towards it and start the auto start process. Seems to reach further. I'll probably get cancer now lol
I'm 'old school' I like to be in the car when I start the engine so I can monitor everything.
I don't want to be 300 feet away as the low oil light is on as I have to pick up the mail and do 3 other things as the engine slowly destroys itself.
Little story:
Long time ago in the 70's my friend spent over $5000 and had a professional high performance engine builder at the time rebuilding a 455 Trans Am short block engine. ( $5000 was a lot of money in the 70's ). All the good stuff installed. Oil pressure did not come up in a reasonable amount of time and completely destroyed the engine. The galley oil plug was left out so oil never made it to any of the internals.
He said, she said whose fault it was but in the end he had an expensive paper weight.
Made me a firm believer to eagle eye the oil pressure gauge when I start any engine.

The C5 and I think the C6 were programmed so the engine would shut down if oil pressure dropped below 5 psi.
Is the C7 similar?
You'd want that to be active only upon startup, wouldn't want everything to die instantly going around a tight corner.

If you lose pressure in a corner its gonna die anyway. Shutting the motor off sooner than you noticing you have no pressure just may save you a little bit of money. Or a lot!

I agree. But the sudden loss of power steering and other aids that depend on electricity could be dangerous.
Does anyone know if the C7 is actually programmed to shut down below 5 psi?
