Default rattle

my C7 hasrecently developed a rattle which seems to be coming from the instrument panel in the dash . Is this a common problem ? Does it require removing the dash ?

If it's coming from the passenger side, it's probably the door to the cabin filter box has come loose. check it out..

Check the targa latches, I had one that drove me straight crazy. I swore it was coming from the dash around the instrument panel, but could never find the spot. I FINALLY found it was the driver side targa latch. Nothing seems to be wrong with it at all, but I could hold my hand on it and the sound instantly went away, then came back immediately upon release. I folded a small napkin over and lightly wedged it between the latch when closing; the sound never comes back until I remove the napkin when taking the top off. I've been meaning to get a strip of that super thin sound deadener adhesive for a more permanent out-of-sight fix, but have just been so overjoyed the sound is gone.

Good luck finding the source of the rattle. Hopefully it is something simple and doesn't require a dash disassembly.

Lots of threads about squeaky tops and possible solutions. I release the front clips occasionally to let the top relax side to side.

There are threads that discuss a rattle in / behind the center vent.
