This is rally starting to annoy me. At night my dash lights are turned down. Way too bright on the dark roads. During the day the dash lighting should be on full so one can see all the gauges correct? On my car, lots of time my dash lighting seems to display at the dark level I set at night. I can't see anything on the dash. I then have to either turn the brightness **** all the way up again, or sometimes after driving a minute the dash lighting will be normal. Am I'm doing something wrong?
I think the brightness **** only adjusts the night setting. During the day dash lights are bright. At dawn and dusk the system gets confused and the lights are off for awhile.

I've seen that on a C7 I took for a test drive. Could not find an adjustment for that. I walked away from the car.
So now I know I was not crazy thinking the dash lights were too dark.
I think some of it is normal. I left the house in the dark the other week. I had some really weird dash brightness problems as the sun came up. To me it seems that the sensor is an on/off switch or whatever little chip changes the dash brightness is an on/off function only. I don't remember details but there was a 5 min period there where I could barely make out the display.
