Default Safety issues

Hi
Are there any safety devices like lane change or getting to close to the vehicle in front of you? Or even if a vehicle going to pass you on the drivers or passenger side.
360 degree cameras?
Even the cheap imports have these safety options.

Corvette owners are much better drivers than those that drive cheap imports, think about it. Those options will just fail in coming years like all electronics.

There are plenty of electronic gizmos on these cars to fail. We don’t need any more!

Am I the only one who finds them annoying? I usually turn off some of those things (when able) on our more modern current cars. Why you may ask? Because I’m tired of all the spurious false alarms! Tired of the shaking steering wheel and huge BRAKE warning on the instrument cluster along with the beeping when everything is perfectly fine. No oncoming traffic crossing the center line or turning into us, and no excessive closure on a vehicle ahead. Not sure what’s triggering them, but it’s like the car has a mind of its own. I find those warnings startling and distracting enough to lead to an accident.

I guess I'm the odd one out since I don't mind the safety systems in our Toyota Sienna. Blindspot monitoring helps with something so large and I only turn on the lane-trace when I have cruise set (which also has the adaptive cruise control). Great for long trips. I could see them adding more to the Corvette and raising the price beyond what Chevrolet thought we would pay. They're standard for the Corvette in 2024 but it also starts at $69,995 these days.

Goodness!... Seems as some folks.. are with a "know it all" and "what's good for me" attitude...🤔
I don't mind either

I wouldn’t consider you odd. I think those particular aids are beneficial and do like having them as well.

If people feel better with those enhancements that's fine. Many of us have driven for several decades accident free without them, a lot of us even before seatbelts and anti lock brakes. Pump the brakes, pump the brakes!! Paying attention to what's happening beyond the car in front of you, checking the rearview frequently for situational awareness, head check as well as mirrors when merging and changing lanes, actually turning your head and looking behind you backing up instead of just relying on cameras, reading traffic etc. Yes modern features can be of benefit but sometimes give false confidence and substitute for proper skills.

I wish we had power folding mirrors. Also the approaching cross traffic warning on our Edge when backing out of a parking spot is nice as is the car in your blindspot dot on the outside mirror.
I don't need adaptive cruise or lane monitoring. Worthless.

I have been driving for 50 years and while I don’t need blind spot mirrors or front and rear sensors, but I like them.

I agree. That’s because they are increasing your awareness of potential dangers without being intrusive or trying to intervene by taking control of the vehicle. They warn you but still let you drive the car. I’m totally OK with that.

No.

Your Owners Manual covers the safety features.

Imports, aren't cheap.

There are dash cams on the market that have lane change and front collision alerts

I too find them annoying and turn most off.

Last month I bought my first vehicle with a plethora of those assistance things (Hyundai Santa Cruz) and the rear cross traffic alert is the only one I've not disabled. All the rest are generally annoying.
