I replaced the battery on my 17, C7, Z51. HELP!!!
Now nothing works except the lights in the rear compartment and the windows will go up and down, the doors will unlock with the remote but will not open. That's it!! Had to use the key to open the rear deck and manual release to open the door.
I would unhook all the battery cables and wait 10 minutes. Hook them all up again and see it everything works. I had the same thing happen only it was a check engine light that wouldn't go off. After waiting the 10 minutes it fixed it.
Yes the black wire is connected to the negative terminal.
I left the battery disconnected all night and tried it again this morning. no change. I also tried connecting my jump starter pack to the battery no luck.

Are you sure you reconnected the thin black wire that goes on the negative terminal when you put things back together?

In addition to both of those, recommend you confirm ALL the connections are TIGHT. In my experience, at least a couple of them feel tight when they're NOT.
Make sure that both battery cable clamps are pushed down, level, and tight. Make sure the positive buss bars at the positive terminal fuse block are in good mechanical contact and bolted tightly. Verify that the black voltage sensing wire on the negative battery cable clamp is intact.
If still no joy, verify that the fuses on top of the battery are good - 12 volts on each end of each fuse referenced to the negative battery post. It is also possible for a new battery to be bad on the shelf or to fail at any time.
Also - a reminder to everyone to test operation of the metal hatch key and manual door releases yearly.

I had this exact same experience. Turned out to be loose battery connections I was certain had been properly tightened. My son showed up, retightened them and voila! He never lets me forget it.

Ah, that is why us old fogies had sons and daughters for when we get old there are young versions of us to check us and to correct our mistakes when we age !!

The main positive cable connection after the 350A fuse has to be carefully aligned to be in its plastic slot before tightening the nut. If misaligned just a little bit, good contact will not be made and the car will be pretty much dead. I made that mistake last October.
