On my '14 it was programmable (by the dealer) and the skip shift was removed. On my '15, I don't know if it originally had it (recently bought it with 12k on the clock) and it doesn't have it (THANK HEAVEN!!)

Here you go. This was last week.

Keep an eye out for my post Mike. I'm kicking one off after this gets to 5 pages. It's still a working title, but I'm going the other way. Something along the lines of "Paying a premium to get your *** handed to you consistently at every light and strip by the auto version of your exact car? Why the self-loathing?"

Who cares what anyone else thinks... get what you prefer, no matter your age, delicate hands, etc., etc., etc. and drive on!

The A8 is faster so there's that.

My wife and I have owned ~15 vehicles over the past 33+ years. Every one of them had/has three pedals. We both strongly prefer and enjoy the manual transmission experience - we've NEVER owned an automatic vehicle and won't until/unless we have no other choice.

Well-said, though I do participate in racing events from time-to-time.

I explained it to someone like this once....
Corvettes are meant to be DRIVEN! Having a manual transmission requires the driver to be "one with the car"! Actually DRIVING a Corvette is an experience that is hard to match!
Cars with automatic transmissions are for when you simply want to RIDE from point A to point B. You can still have fun RIDING in a Corvette with an automatic, but IT IS NOT THE SAME!
I couldn't care less if you want to own a Corvette w/ an Automatic. They are ALL awesome to me! But my personal preference is to DRIVE mine!!

I'm indifferent. I really don't care one way or the other. The #1 reason why I chose my particular C7Z was because of the color and the condition of the car....and when "the one" popped up for sale it just so happened to have the A8! If I get the itch to shift the car at certain rpms then I just move the shifter to M, which sort of turns it into a M8...which is better than a M7, no? Lol.

These auto versus manual threads are always entertaining and how either option impacts residual value over the long term will evolve and is still TBD. All C7 buyers had/has a choice of transmissions and there are many reasons why a buyer might have a preference of one over the other regardless of value. In the end, I am happy with the transmission option I chose that provides me with the Corvette experience I want to have.

this manual vs auto thread issue is over rated yeah I get it "its a badge of merit" because you can drive a stick and the younger generation can't, big deal? I have the option of driving a 2014 Z51/3lt M7 or a 2018 Z51, 3lt GS auto and between the two I'd take the auto, you've got one less duty to worry about (clutch) and anyone in your family can move the car if needed if you cant.. If you know how to use the power band of the engine, the paddle shifters (up/down) it's fun to drive and beat on. I've already lined up with other manuals and smoked him out off the hole and on the big end. when I take it to the dealer for service they have 1 guy in the whole dealership that knows how to drive a stick to bring it in the shop, pathetic! I am going to be listing the '14 M7 for sale and if anything I just hope I can find a buyer that can drive a stick?

No, you DON'T get it! As a prior poster said: (paraphrasing) It's DRIVING vs RIDING. AND as I said earlier: TO EACH THEIR OWN! You may like yellow, *I* hate it! SO WHAT?

Depends on what what your doing with your car. I have an 18 Z06 with the A8 that I track. It overheats even with Chevy's upgraded cooling system, wish I'd kept my 17 with the m7.
