Default Adios, "Veronica"

It was a pleasure being your owner.

I am writing a Vette Obit of the 2018 in my profile pict. And will be keen to avoid sullying whatever follow on action is taken ..

We autocrossed, dragged at the track and ran Circuit of the America's with great intensity. We had a lot of fun and made a LOT of miles in the relatively short time we were together.

however, one day a couple months ago in a nearby town (20 miles away) ... we were leaving said town on a US highway, traffic light intersection with a state highway. We were running in the right lane at posted speed limit, but next to a pickup pulling a trailer. As we entered this intersection with a long green light, in fact the protected left had changed to red, we were schwacked by another pickup which had already been struck by a large SUV running his red light of the state highway. He had just started to leave from a stop ... the end of our side's protected left. This struck pickup was broad side to the pickup next to us which prevented my visual of what was happening and who hit that first truck's rear axle, turning him toward us. I had less than a second to go from "cruising" to "FIGHT'S ON, bang, you're dead" but commanded a right hand turn. Unfortunately, there was insufficient time/distance to create enough separation and he tagged your back end, spectaculary sending your rear body panel flying and putting us into a right skid. We were tracking the road, but pointed directed across it. Your rear axle was sliding off the pavement but your front end remained on the pavement's shoulder.

then you impacted the large traffic light pole with your right rear wheel. It didn't absorb the energy, it reflected it right back into you and we spun 180 degrees. You lost your rear axle, detached from the driveline and the frame.

I was unconscious and via careflight taken to the hospital where I was expected to also expire before arrival. But I was sustained by my Creator, Jehovah. Jesus kept me alive through the trauma ICU, normal ICU, "floor" level ... and then hospital rehab and now currently 3rd party neurological rehab. Amazing.

You didn't fare as well. Yesterday, after much consideration, consultation, we let you return to the insurance company.

It has been really great being your owner and driver. You were a great corvette and a fine car. RIP "Veronica"

I've been discharged from Pate Neurological Rehabilitation.

those folks are amazing. Unrestricted driving and the only thing left from before, I've yet to locate my Capt America shield. Where did I put that?

Still need to be wise in my remarks here for processes in progress .... but completing rehab was a MAJOR victory.

Roll ON!

Glad you made it, sorry about Veronica. Did the accident instigator stick around or get caught?

Wow, quite the damage to Veronica. Sure glad you are doing OK after that. Hopefully you will be able to find a suitable replacement for the car.

Wow, glad you made it and you know your creator has more plans ahead. What an ordeal to go (and keep going) through. Hopefully some of Veronica's parts can live on in other cars

Holy cow! I cannot imagine. Hoping you are able to fully recover, physically. Mentally, I think I would have some level of trauma for quite a while.

Glad you're alright.

Jesus wasnt the one protecting you. After all, hes the one that put you in that spot. Doctors, nurses, and modern medicine is why you're still around.

which included the professional opinion I wasn't going to make it. Perhaps I was unclear about that.

Given 5" are the "vulnerable" ... 1 sooner, it'd have been in my rearview mirror ... 4 later and I'd have that space to avoid the "kill shot" ... I'd agree this was orchestrated by The Master and I'm learning a few of the reasons why months later and expect to continue having reasons revealed. Keep searching friend. He promises you'll find. This is my testimony. thanks for commenting.

I don't recall it ... so that helps the trauma factor. HOWEVER, I have changed my priority about >45 mph intersections. KEEP THE VISUAL. move forward or lag a bit but keep the visual.

thanks for your comment.
