Default Cordes Performance Racing Shoutout

Finally, I'm taking a moment to give a quick shoutout to Joe and his team at CPR. I reside in Texas and entrusted my C7z 7m to the folks in Arizona for some upgrades.

The vehicle initially sported a heads/cam/headers package, along with a CPR tank and HX. Before the modifications, it provided some badass rides, baseline testing around 680 horsepower on Joe's Dyno. This figure seemed consistent with similar builds running on pump 93 fuel and stock upper pulleys/fuel system.

For the upgrades, I opted for the following installations:
  • Magnuson 2650 supercharger
  • Too High PSI billet lid & valve covers - S/C whine is crazy
  • Big bore HPFP
  • XDI 30% over injectors
  • Flex fuel kit
  • CPR fuel system
  • Alky dual-nozzle meth kit
  • AEM gauges installed behind the dash for comprehensive monitoring
The final output numbers settled at around 950whp on E-60/meth and 850 on 93/meth. The car now delivers an absolute blast, with a roughly 270HP pickup. The enhanced performance is most noticeable in the higher RPMs; while 3rd gear always had good pull with the stock blower setup, there's a remarkable difference in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear now - it keeps you firmly planted in the back of the seat throughout. The Magnuson 2650 has notably improved intake air temps, particularly in Texas heat. The sizable BTR cam initially caused some shaking at idle, but Nic smoothed it out considerably. First gear in a parking lot is now much more manageable, and the tune has improved the idle sound with a satisfying chop.

Undoubtedly, there are some highly reputable shops in Texas, frequently mentioned on forums and in videos. While I have nothing against them, I did my due diligence, reaching out to several shops. Joe personally answers all emails and calls, or promptly returns them. He's consistently available to assist customers. Throughout the process, I had numerous questions and even decided to enhance the build further along the way - all handled without issue. Given the considerable investment and the distance my vehicle traveled, I aimed to get everything right the first time. Cordes might not be the most economical option though on par with many, but their customer service and build quality are top-notch. Their backlog of work, like any reputable shop, reflects their popularity. In my view, investing in quality upfront pays dividends in the long run, echoing the sentiment of "buy once, cry once." Cordes doesn't cut corners; they utilize premium brands, ensuring customers have the best chance for long-term success.

With their extensive experience and involvement in manufacturing products for these cars, I felt confident entrusting my ride to them, knowing I'd receive a quality product in return; and that, i did.

If you're thinking about upgrading your ride, i wouldn't hesitate to use Joe and his folks. Very positive experience!

Excellent numbers from the car. Great when you find a tuner that can really dial in the car.
