Newest Last generation Vette for me.

Just traded 2021 Mach 1 for C8. Had a 1972 C3 for many years as a project car. I heard C9 tooling is why the factory tours are on pause. Also heard the stupid wall between the seats is to be nixed. That the thing I dislike the most after 1000 miles. I mean, you can not get your piece out of the glove box? Much less, if you're lucky enough, get a BJ. Please!
Corvettes generally don't seem good for a BJ.

I owned a C7 for Over 6 years and loved the car. I don’t understand people on this forum that have to bash the C8 or any of the other Generations. I have had a C4 C5 C6 I like all of the Generations of Vettes! Be happy with what you like and leave it there, be kind! Different strokes for Different folks.

Is the maintenance that bad when compared with cars of this generation? I would think that compared to a 1970 car, sure, there is a lot more items and much less space but that is what we have to put up with for the emissions we need. Every year, it seems to get tighter and tighter. I've heard of the C7 having a lot of POTENTIAL problems because of it's complexity and from a C4 POV, I totally agree. What I don't know of is an honest comparison with cars of this type and era.

Once you own a C7, you won't want any other generation Corvette. I certainly do not. That's the assessment here on C7 Forum.

I own a C7. I don't want any older generation Corvette. While I don't know what direction the C8 will be heading and skeptical of it, I certainly will be willing to look at the C9 when it is used or at least, that is the plan.

Had the chance to drive my neighbor's C8 (we're both gearheads, so enjoy sharing our passion) and came away impressed. Acceleration was crisp (I did not push it very hard) and the DCT shifting was very similar to that of the PDK in my 992. All in all, the C8 proved to be a very nice & refined driving experience.
With that said, my current desire is to have something a bit more rowdy and I think a C7 Z06 M7 would likely fit the bill. That's not a knock to the C8 - it is an amazing car. The lack of a manual doesn't bother me that much, either.
I am pretty sure I am not alone in my quest for a nice C7 Z06 MY as the selection is very limited and the prices are quite high (very close to new C8 money). We'll see what ends up in my driveway, but I think as the Corvette continues to move into exotic car territory - the desire & demand for the earlier gens will remain strong.

I wonder what the maintenance costs between a the C7 and a c8 would be? I put a lot of miles on my Corvettes and it seems that the oil changes and transmission fluid changes are quite expensive. Maybe this question would be better asked on the C8 forum.

He didn't exactly talk about maintenance costs, but said on the C8 "there's lots of $hit buried under lots of other $hit that all needs to be removed for work."
At $179/hr shop time, that will get expensive. DIY or a cheaper shop can reduce the cost somewhat, but it's still not cheap or easy.
I can recall several other posters here who commented that they liked their German cars but would never own one that wasn't under warranty.
