Today a truck kicked up a rock which hit the windshield. It sounded terrible, but the rock only scraped it - see photo. It's not deep, simply a scraped. Does anybody have experience with polishing something like this out? Ideas???
Your best bet is to go to a pro auto glass shop and seek their advice, or have them do the repair if possible. Good luck.
Polishing that out is unlikely. Moreover, the windshield's integrity in that area is likely compromised. Short of replacement, the best option is probably to have a professional shop repair as they would a chip.
Good advice from all above. In the past I've used a repair kit to repair small dings like that. Had like 3 small areas on my 2004 Z06 and repaired it to look invisible. Forget who made the kit. Just another option. It worked great. Edit: I believe it was the one below.
I used that repair kit with some luck. It is worth a try if you are into, doityourself, stuff. Just keep checking for small little cracks that could start. If you have glass coverage, they should cover it.
