Brakes
I am looking to change pads and rotors.
I’m tired of the dust and they are ready to be replaced. What are good pads and rotors and what size do I order. It’s a Grand Sport 2017 red calibres with upgraded brake package when I bought it.
thanks.

Good quality ceramic pads if you don't push on the brake pedal hard and a lot?
Powerstop and Hawk?

Be careful what pads you get. A lot of them are advertised as super duper, high performance, high speed, great stopping power pads, BUT they have to be hot to work well. For normal drivers, just get the regular ceramic's.

True. Maybe the OP need to list out any criteria needed?

This is the kind of statement I was talking about. Worries me for a daily driver.

These are no where near $30 but I find them to be very good brake pads for my car. Carbotech™ 1521™ Dust free, don't stain the rotors, no noise from the pads, and no issues with stopping power.

Is the Carbotech 1521 changing the breaking characteristics at all from the OEM?

Carbotech and Powerstop have received good reviews on the forum. There are several forum vendors that specialize in brake products - give them a call and discuss.

You can always lose your mind one day, just decide to go all out and swap to Carbon Ceramics.

My personal experience:
Before I swapped over to CCB last summer, I swapped my pads to Powerstops back in 2020 when my car had about 1,500 miles on it. Dust was almost non-existent with Powerstops, went a few hundred miles between washes and no nasty dust everywhere. My rotors never turned brown, as some people claim on this forum. Not saying they’re wrong, but I never experienced color change on rotors.
The bad: ran several 1/4s and 1/2 miles. The braking was ok, but not as confident as the factory brembo pads. If you are simply driving daily or on the weekends, even spirited driving, they’re ok. If you plan on slowing down quickly from 130 or 160mph+, Powerstops are not for you. I would certainly not use those on a Roadcourse.

I had a C3 with dual, 4 piston, calipers, and new rotors. Being new to the car I went through the, high performance, brake pad, thing. I tried the super, duper, expensive pads, didn't help the stopping power one bit. After a few different pads, just to see, I got a set of regular ol organic pads. $22. They were as good or better than the other pads. I installed a regular set of semi-metallic pads,,,, they had the same stopping power, so I just left them on the car. I don't track or race the car, just around the town and highway driving.

Check out Rick Conti's you tube for a good brake analysis with Cory at Paragon Performance. Why are you replacing the rotors? I put Hawk ceramic pads on my 19 GS shortly after I bought her new. Now with 46K miles and still good. Also, very minor dusting. Good luck.
