C7 trunk not closing

C7 trunk not closing
Hi, I have an issue with closing trunk in my C7. Today it stopped working and it's always popping, no matter how much power I use to close it, auto latch also doesn't work. The is no way to keep it closed.
Shouldn't this part be locking itself?
Is the whole locking mechanism broken and I need replace a trunk lock latch motor or something else could cause this issue?
Thanks

What year is the car?
14 and 15 did not have auto draw down. 16+ did.
If your motor is bad or if it's not getting any power and you have auto draw down, your trunk will not latch properly as part of the process of locking the hatch is to draw it down.
Check and see if you have power at the hatch latch or not. Check fuse if not.
Next option would be to disconnect the battery for few minutes and let things reset. It may start working again.
I had a similar issue with my Infiniti power tail gate. I went as far as ordering a used latch mechanism and the fix ended up being a power disconnect for 30 minutes. Module reset and it worked just fine after that.
