However, when I got the dash disassembled, I found that my cables were different than all the pictures I had seen, where there is a pair of blue cables, one for the screen and one for the PDR. As you can see below, each cable connection consists of a pair of thin black cables going to the plug rather than a single blue wire for each. My car is a 2014 1LT and I am curious why there would be a difference in the cables. I didn't attempt to replace it with the Amazon cable. I'm curious if anyone has encountered this? My only thought is the blue cables have a pair inside the blue sheathing. I might just move the PDR cable over since I don't have PDR on my car. THis also makes me wonder if this is the original screen and maybe later models had black cables.

Mine is a 14 too. I replaced the mini HDMI cable and it took care of the issue. I eliminated the other cable completely, it was doing nothing, and gave me room to get the new cable in place. Both of mine were black as well, sounds like the black wires were the issue?

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm curious if yours were also a pair per port. Can you link me to the cable you used when replacing? I want to see if it differs from the Amazon cable I listed earlier, which is mini USB.
I've got a '14 Stingray 2LT and recently went through the same process. Mine had two black cables (one per port) instead of the blue cables as pictured. I also got the Amazon cable in preparation for the repair/replacement but found, when I got the unit out, that the two black cables were one piece where they connected to the base, kind of like "V" shaped rather than two cables independent of each other. Decided not to screw with it and sent the whole unit to Model Electronics for refurbishment. Top notch firm, shipped it from Staples on Monday afternoon, back to me on Friday of the same week and Thursday was Thanksgiving! Reinstalled, all is good. I'm guessing that all these different backs, blue cables, black cables, 4 vs. 2 cables could be that GM is using different suppliers or different improvements are being made during the manufacturing process?
BluRace, there's lots of good YouTube videos out there, just take your time and you'll be OK. Videos make it look harder than it is just remember you're working with plastic trim so go easy!
