My 16 Z51 developed a problem coming home last night, engine fan came on like it was overheating, heat gauge quit, A/C quit, I was close to home so got it in the garage, it was not overheating but the fan run 18 minutes, I checked the coolant after an hour or so and tank was full, left it sit over night and fired it up next morning, 5 seconds later the fan run for another 18 minutes, coolant full, no heat gauge no AC, any of you had this problem?

Temperature sensor common failure on the Corvette.
I replaced mine. Cured the gauge reading zero.
Noticed engine temperature around 160 on the highway at 70 mph.
Replaced thermostat. Stuck partially open.
All issues resolved.
I will be to the local GM dealer tomorrow for a sensor, will let you know how it turns out.......you guys are great!
Will it be necessary to disconnect the battery to reset the system after replacing the sensor? Also while picking up the sensor i was going to ask about the trans triple flush. When is this necessary, my car has 26k miles, Thanks
I had to disconnect the battery when I had the same problem. Not a big deal (other than getting to it) and no lost settings. Just remember to re-index the windows.

is it necessary to disconnect battery to remove electrical connector for the sensor??
Went to GM picked up the sensor ($68) run into a long time friend that works in the service center, advised just disconnecting the battery for a few seconds, problem solved! BUT I am hanging on to the sensor for a while until I clock some miles, thought this would come in handy info
Disconnecting the battery will solve the problem - until the next time. You may be lucky and it is a one-time problem but mine got progressively more frequent until I replaced the thermostat.

As far as the triple flush goes, I'd go ahead and get it done. The only problem is that I suspect you are now out of warranty so it will be on your dime. My memory is that the typical cost is about $800.
If you aren't experiencing any shudder or subpar shifting, you could let it go. The old version of the fluid tends to absorb water, which isn't good.

I believe that 'letting it go' may cause you additional problems.
The TCC's are modulated to a higher percentage when in V4 mode, due to this modes higher vibration, and with the older fluid, not Blue label, the TCC's will experience a higher degree of wear especially if there is any shutter at all, even unperceived. Good move to change it out.
Note: Even in V8 mode the TCC's are programed to modulate their engagement but not as aggressive as V4 mode. Its not like the old lock up TC's of old. (100% ).
