does anyone know someone remote that would do a tune for a 19 z similar to the Diablo canned 93 octane, or is there a copy of that tune that has been downloaded I could compare difference to stock and make changes myself
I understand it is not a significant tune but I am not interested in spending $800 in a DYNO tune at this point
talk to gwatney performance but understand its 4 credits for 17-19 cars. if its a a8 car its another 200$ for the tcu tune and you have to send the tcu to hp tuners to unlock it . credits are 50$ each so ad in the tuners cost for his expertise its un like you get a tune for much less than 800$
I already have the device and 4 credits, just purchased from summit racing, I will set it up and do the delete dod , after that I was looking for some assistance on a minimal tune, something similar to the Diablo 93 octane, as I said not looking to spend 800 on top of the 600 already spent for the device and credits,
possibly somebody doing a light custom tune as the diablew guy does, but if those guys don’t exist in the HPT world then gwatney could be an option
anyone who buys a hp tuner can say that they are a tuner. the lt platform takes someone with the knowledge and skill to properly tune a dfi car. so in a nutshell you get what you pay for. any tune done remotely will be so conservative so as to not hurt the car or the reputation of the tuner its really not worth doing. take your hp unit and car to a shop in person and have a street tune done.
theres a reason nobody wants the Diablo tunes they aren't worth the money. in the gm world hp tuners is the go to device. from there its the tuners talent your paying for. fwiw my street tune from my tuner with the credits and tcu tune was 1200$. took 2 days . ill go back later after the I do the motor build for a dyno e85 setup . Likely another 1000$ plus dyno time

sounds very logical and I figure after all is said and done I will end up at one of the local shops that have Dyno and do tuning, I would assume I should get the Tcm unlocked before that to get a good “street tune”
(great term, had not heard before but very accurate)
I appreciate the input on the Diablo , I was very close to returning hp and going with Diablo and a remote custom tune but the lack of ability to tune the Tcm started me thinking negatively about that and I am sticking in the hp world,
the term street tune is how my tuner sets the car up with the mods I have on it. his is tuning not only afr but drivability in street traffic ,startup act. once the car is tuned on pump 93 for the street then he would typically hook hot up to his main line hub dyno for power tuning and ethanol. then back to the street to see how it runs. the tcu tune is one of the best mods I had done. super crisp shifting on the street and if I want a manual mode that would start in. 2 gear then as the boost comes in. the car moves to auto shifting for the run. files are kept on the hp tuners unit and swapped as needed.
Greg Huggins is one of the Gen V masters and is a regular on the HP Tuners forum. He does a lot of remote tuning. He helped me immeasurably when I started tuning.
You get what you pay for in life, there is a reason why a "professional" tune costs what it does, an engine can be destroyed by someone with an HP tuner & little experience
