Default HUD Switch

Hello All,
The HUD tri set switch on my 17 GS seemed to have, well toggled inbound of the dash. Switch is loose enough for me to pivot it out in its normal position, but will not stay secured. All functions of the display work. My question is how do I get the switch out for an inspection? I tried to remove the lower dash knee pad for a better look however after I got the 3 bottom screws holding it in, it seems to be hung up at the top of the pad. Any suggestions would help. See pic of the switch in question.

Will follow this to learn how it comes out - just in case I need to do this at some point.

If you are really lucky you can just push the HUD switches down and see if they'll snap back in from the top. Push all three buttons down pretty hard to see if they'll snap the module back in. Assuming not, the following will help. DEFINITELY try that first though, you may get lucky!

Below is a pic from the inside of the dash panel and two closeups of the HUD switch. The clips are on the top of that plastic trim that includes the HUD and mirror adjustments. I've removed these with a thin plastic pry tool from the TOP since the hinges are on the bottom. It is not bolted in, just clips. Use some blue tape on the dash piece especially with a carbon fiber dash! Once out, you should be able to snap the HUD switches back in from the rear (so long as the clips are not broken).

Pic 2 & 3 showing the tabs on the HUD switches attached to the trim piece:

Devnull, Thanks for those great pics! When I first noticed the switch inbound I said to myself exactly what you said…maybe I’ll get lucky and it will snap back to its locked position. NOT, lol. Placed a thin plastic flat pry tool behind the HUD plate and it came out. Then just snapped the switch back in. Easy fix though with a little help. Thank You Sir!

Default Removing mirror switch panel

I am hoping to install a Rostra 4 sensor front bumper parking system in my 2019 GS 1LT. A candidate location for the indicator is at the back of the "coin shelf" next to the mirror switch. This would require safe removal of the panel. As I understand from this forum, I should mask the instrument panel and insert a flexible plastic shim from the front top edge to push the upper clips down. Correct? Any tricks? It seems quite stiff.

Well, First off…Welcome to the forum! A great place and source for information. Follow Devnull’s post #3 for removal. Im assuming your car being the 1LT you do not have the heads up option. If that’s the case I would remove the coin storage shelf in the same manner. Others will chime in.

Weird that it popped out but none of the tabs are broken. Glad it was a simple fix.
