Time to get new tires for my 2019 Grand Sport. Right now I have the original tires on it... MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT ZP
Not a real fan but was wondering what others are using. I am sure this is a common question but I can't find any treads on it.
Thanks!
Well that's funny because there are a lot of threads on this subject, the general consensus is if you want to stay with a run flat go to the PILOT SPORT A/S 4 ZP, yo go to the GM tire finder GM tire finder and use the filter for MICHELIN. They are quieter and you do not get that wheel/tire hop in tight turns.

I just got my 17 grand sport and the tires have a couple seasons left on them but I wanted to see the cost of new ones. I picked up Bridgestone potenza run flats on closeout. I picked all 4 up for $850. I couldn’t pass up the price. So they will sit until I need them. No idea what people’s thoughts are on them but at that price 🤷🏻♂️.

Great price for runflats, what website or tire place had this pricing?
Just put tires on my Stingray. It was a toss up between the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S & the Continental Sport 02.
I did not want all seasons or run flats.
Came down to price. I got a rebate on the Continentals & they were about $40 cheaper for 4. Been running them for a few weeks. I love them on my car. It rides better, & no more wheel skipping on tight turns. Doesn't really help the GS people though as the sizes are not available for that.

tire rack has the fronts on closeout for $166 but the rears are still almost 600 each. I’m unable to find a full set in wide body sizes for 850 or even close

Their close out is good deal. Mine is Z51. I found Bridgestone front close out in December but rear was not. I bought front only and was gonna get Pirelli for the rear with regular price. Debated over year end holiday and checked rear price of Bridgestone in January again and it was close out price. I bought them. Total cost was less than $800 for four tires.

You will love them. I picked these up last year for my base convertible and had them installed in September. They have performed very well and look good too. I'm not a Michelin fan and I usually remove the run flats but wanted the safety of run flats for road trips. These ride really well being run flats. Got caught in the rain a few times and they handled well. At 100 mph they are smooth as a caddy and handle confidently. A great value for a spring, summer, fall choice. No regrets.
I also put the Michelin AS ZPs on my Grand Sport and I like them a lot. At the Ron Fellows Corvette Owners School they said you should always use run flats on your Corvette because the suspension was designed around them.
I was with the Corvette club on a run to Colorado and we were about 60 miles from Las Vegas and it was 117 degrees. One member got a bolt through his tire. He made to Las Vegas no problem. With non run flats he would have sat there quite a while. Those two reasons are why I will always have ZPs.
Every thread I've seen on this topic I recommend Discount Tire. FWIW, I replaced mine (April 2022) on my 2014, non-Z51, 1LT car with Michelin Sport All Season 4 at my local Discount Tire store for $1738.50 for everything. Since mine 18 Front/19 Rear and this is 2 years ago, I'm guessing you might be paying more, but it doesn't hurt to check. Also check for discounts you might be eligible for (I.e., I got the Military Veteran discount). This price I show here included new TPMS, "refund/Replacement certificates," balance, tax, etc., everything they offer for a new set of tires. Ride is better than the old factory, summer-only Michelins. So the Michelins get my vote.

I really like Continentals. I have the ExtremeContact Sport 02 on my Honda S2000 and they perform well. I will likely get a set for my Corvette when it is due since they are really affordable. Just over a grand isn't bad at all for a base Stingray.
I had a set of Michelin AS4 ZP tires installed on my 2016 Stingray last year. I like them. No more Ackerman effect as well as the traction they give me in cold weather.

I've owned both. They are very similar tires.
I have the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 on my Z06 now; and I love them. VERY smooth ride, with great traction and handling. They glide over bumps & cracks in the road.
I have the Michelin AS4 ZP for my cold-weather setup. Much harsher ride. I will be selling them this fall, and replacing them with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires. They're also excellent. I have them on my VW GTI.
By the way, I did not find that the AS4 road any smoother than the Super Sports that they replaced. Sure, and new set of AS4's will ride better than a 30K mile set of Super Sports. But I was comparing new AS4's versus 10K mile Super Sports.
But know this....There is no tire that matches the razor-sharp handling of the Super Sports. They are a fantastic performing tire in warmer weather.
I've tried all of the run-flat tires. I just can't stand the ride. No need to beat the crap out of your car if you don't have to, IMO. It'll be non-run-flats for me from now on.

I just went from the Bridgestone Potenza to the Michelin PS4 A/S run flats. Wow, what a difference! The Bridgestone was a very hard ride compared to the Michelins. Feels like I have a whole new car it rides so nice on those PS4s.
