Introduction + 2019 2LT Purchase Pending!
Husband is a long time Vette man (we have an 81’ C3) and comes from a longer line of Vette Owners in the family. I’ve always been passionate about and borderline obsessed with cars. Thanks to husband’s enduring patience, I’ve finally been converted to a die hard Vette fan.
I found Corvette forum thanks to Google, because every time I went to learn information about Corvettes, the Corvette Forum topics popped up every time; ever the skeptic, even I have concluded that this is a trusted resource for reliable, informative, helpful and relatable information. Love it here!
We’re looking at a 2019 Shadow Gray 2LT that reflects a torque converter replacement then 2,500 miles later it was traded in. This car has “minor damage, front, involving a parked car” on Carfax. Appears no repairs performed, despite incident being reported.
Aesthetic observations: small chip in paint to right front corner of hood, hood is slightly misaligned being tighter on right side, larger gap on left, indention on scoop at right side, visible stress cracks to scoop. Car purchased/kept locally, single owner, 99.9% serviced by Chevrolet Dealer; tires rotated 1500 miles in after purchase. Notes of suspension checks. Service records reflect 7 tire replacements and one rim replacement 27,000 miles asking $50,900.
Husband is about 100% convinced we avoid this car. Naturally, I immediately fell in love with this at first sight and want this particular car because (A) I’m a sucker for the fast, pretty & shiny (B) it checks every other box: year, 2LT package, Targa, Exterior/Interior color (minus the glass roof which can be purchased separately, later).
Open to any/all input, including suggested offer price! Ultimately, what husband says, goes, in this area. We plan to keep the car that we buy, and I observed other comments that any Carfax damage is going to impact resale/trade in, but for ones who plan to keep a car long term and it will be a driver, might overlook it.
Thanks so much for all that you contribute to help others learn more about these beautiful cars!

The bigger concern is why the hood is misaligned. If you're spending $50k, I tend to agree with your husband and to keep looking and move away from this car.
There are many pristine options out there for a $50k price point unless you're aiming for a GS.
I searched for 6 months until I found the right one for my liking and my budget. Don't fall in love with the first one you see unless it's mint!
Check Carmax listings, and Cargurus. Personally, I don't have a good feeling about Carvana, so I'd stay away from them.

Is this the car you are considering?

If it is and based on what you have said and pictures 20 and 30 in the Cargurus listing, the interior will tell you as much about how a car has been cared for. I would agree with your husband, wait and find another. I keep a pretty good eye on available C7 and C8 Corvettes in the local area and have seen several with this trim level and color come and go, be patient use sites like Cargurus to help locate potential candidate cars.
My first question after questioning the chip and misaligned hood is , why 7 tire changes in so few miles? My 2019 is on it's second set of front tires and still has original rears at 24,000 miles.

The feedback is unanimous and I hear it loud and clear.
1) The link provided was the car (how did you do that?!) and thanks for talking me off the ledge. My husband was amused as I read the replies (nothing he didn’t already know).
2) The recommendation on interior photos is great! After reading the replies, I feel silly having been so stuck on this one car.
We will skip this poor mistreated baby and wait for the right one. Tough call, I am not a patient woman. Thanks again to all - appreciated!!

Happy hunting, Car Gurus really makes it easy.
