I installed mine and did not disconnect the battery - the instructions did not mention to do so. They do recommend having the key fob far away from the car and leaving the doors open for at least 10 minutes so it goes to "sleep" and all the systems are deactivated. Installed with no problems and for the record mine is in a Z51 M7. Haven't driven it a lot but liking SP5 or 6 so far.
Also , as with any throttle controller, don't set it to aggressive or you WILL get a reduced power code as the voltage sent by the pedal can cause an out of range condition .... for various reasons ......
Jeff, disconnecting the battery(negative terminal) would be a good idea. I left my door open for about 13 or 14 minutes, turned out that wasn't long enough. The car did not like it. . After disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes (as per Soler) all was good!
Settled on Sport 4 after playing around a little. I like it there. Good luck with yours. You should have no problem finding your sweet spot and enjoy driving your car even more.

THIS!
I kept my door opened until the light inside shut off, about 10 to 15 minutes. I knew then the car had gone to sleep with the door open.
Had no issues with the installation after that.

I did not disconnect the battery on my car when I installed the Soler TC but like others did leave the door open for about 15 minutes. I have my Soler Bluetooth set to SP5.

This happened to me on SEVERAL OCCASIONS. Usually set at SP6. It was very annoying. Had to climb under the dash to disconnect it. Talked to someone at Soler and they were nice enough to hook me up with the newer version at a discounted price. Said it could have been an issue with the unit being bad, but without testing it, no way to tell. Just keep this in mind if you keep it on a higher setting.

Yep , simply put, its caused by a " Ganging of Tolerances " , all drive by wire systems have safeguards , if the throttle position sensor is saying one thing ( voltage measurement) but the pedal sensor and now the controler are saying another, the ECM sees this mis match and goes into low power mode . This usually happens at the extreme settings ..... I had a throttle controller in both my C6 and now my C7 and have only experience issues when I had it set on "stupid" settings 😑 there is no need to set it that high especially since it makes the throttle so sensitive that it starts to surge especially at constant hwy speeds
That is the settings that I run with . Just enough to overcome that off idle dead spot and provide a responsive pedal without being to sensitive
Setting it higher just messes up all the traction control and stablitrac settings. Some think it's great to spin the tires like crazy and think it's fast but ... if your spinning u are not winning ....
I never did battery disconnect, just waited for the car to shut down and kept fob away from car never had a problem or threw a code or anything like that. I tend to use Sport 5 in Summer when I have some traction.. Sport 2 when I do not.
I don't recall if I disconnected the battery or not, but if the instructions said to do so, I would have.
I keep the setting on Ludicrous3; I've not had any codes.
I'm going to amend my above comment -
I dug out Soler's installation instructions for the TC, and they said nothing about disconnecting the battery, so I didn't.
The instructions did say to open a door or hatch, and locate the key fob away from the car for 10 minutes or so to let the systems de-energize before proceeding with the installation, and now that I read that, that's what I recall doing.
I have the new Bluetooth version TC. I've installed and uninstalled it at least 4 times. I never considered disconnecting the battery or waiting until the system went dormant with the door open. Frankly, I didn't know any better. The bottom line is, I never experienced any malfunctions and the unit functioned perfectly (SP7) the entire time it was installed. I finally went with a tuner and no longer needed the TC.
I did not disconnect the battery. It's just a plug and play. Went with middle setting. Made PLENTY of difference with that. No need for exteme settings imo
I didn't disconnect the battery. Started out SP 5 for couple weeks, then changed to Ludacris 5. 2019 GS auto. I did try Ludacris 9, little to aggressive for my reflexes.
I also paired mine with the 91mm throttle body at the same time. Noticeable improvement and worth the money.
