I would think 4k would get you a great set of wheels even if it’s not exactly what u want. I really like my stock black wheels on my 19 z06.

Yes, I like my stock black wheels wheels too. My taste has changed over the years. There was a time when I felt chrome was the only option. I am only trying to get ahead of the inevitable wheel crack issue that everyone says is my destiny. Although, I don't see it happening with the way I drive.

I bought a 2016 Z51 coupe on Feb 2020.
It came with a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter and a nice set of aftermarket wheels.
When I went to insure the car my agent said I needed to get a cost for the wheels.
Damn near keeled over when the mfg quoted me $12,500 for the set.
No way! After that I became nervous about leaving the car anywhere.
The wheels were ADV1, 2 pc hidden hardware.
No way would I ever spend that for aftermarket wheels.
The dealership gave me an extra 3k when I sold them the car last year.

The "inevitable" issue is with the GS/Z06 wheels. I have not heard of many issues with Stingray wheels if any. If that's the main reason for replacing, I wouldn't worry about it.

If your car is a base Stingray or Z51, your original wheels should last a very long time. I happen to like the design a lot.
Even on the base cars, the Z51 wheels ("Tuning Fork" design) were an option.
The Z51 wheels (they are forged) on our 2017 Z51 have taken some really hard hits on the bombed out roads of the Midwest and destroyed two tires, we had very slight bends on two wheels that could have been balanced out but I opted to straighten them years ago, still doing fine.

Well thanks fellas. That puts my mind at ease. I can put that purchase off for a while and that will make at least one of us here real happy.
