Default Fuel System/Injector Service

I just had my C7 at my local dealership for a transmission triple flush. I don't usually service my cars at a dealership, but I got the transmission service done using my vehicle protection plan. After reviewing my service history on the car with the service advisor, he recommended a Fuel System service. I declined the service. The car is running fine and it seemed a little overkill at 30K miles. I try to use Top Tier gasoline when convenient. I'm also thinking about installing a Catch Can to reduce the amount of blow-by being fed back into the motor. I've been doing some searches, but I'm interested in hearing what fuel additives people prefer or if there are any other DIY alternatives to help clean the injectors or service the fuel system. thanks

I use Techron Concentrate about twice a year in my gas tank. That’s about it.

Techron can definitely work but be careful. I worked for BMW NA in the 80s when they had carbon buildup on intake valves. They tested Techron by having their service reps use it at differing ratios. Several blew engines at higher concentrations. The stuff cleaned well enough that it got into the oil and diluted it. So use it as suggested and NO more.

Fuel additives can be used the tank prior to oil change if worried about dilution.

Yep, as long as one is aware of the potential problem.

Is it the mileage or is it the sitting with the fuel that forms varnish? I have flow benched injectors, sent them out for cleaning and testing after 100K. For my other machines like ATV, Watercraft, etc, it is after say 4 or 5 years. Never any issues but the "before" and "after" tests seem to indicate there is something to be gained. I check them at the tech college (when I had a friend working there) so I can verify if the cleaning service is making up the "before" numbers. Those are not GDI injectors so I don't know about it extending to GDI injectors. The fuel service they recommend, I believe, is one where they hook up a can of cleaner to the fuel rail, shut off the pump and run the car. Sounds like it should work. Never seen any proof that it has worked as we think.
