C7 Subtle Stripes
Probably my 10th or so application since the C7's came out. One of the fellers in the gang wanted those so I'm not doing anything special, bring it on up. 1/16" double black stripe, turned out OK. Nothing that shouts out at you.
Of course, no charge.

To my eyes, the stripes flow across the body like the fine stroke of a paintbrush.
I believe they accent the beauty of the C7 and bring a bit of class to the overall view of the body.

Great service to your local Corvette community..
Well done Chief!!
Looks great! Think that would look nice on my Arctic White coupe. May give it a try.

Are those stripes available commercially? If so, where and what brand? I’ve found some double 3M stripes but the top stripe is wider than the bottom one and not quite as subtle. I also like how yours come together in a point at the forward end. Does the kit do that, or was it something you had to merge together? Thinking I may have to try a single thin stripe if I try to add some on my own. Thanks.

I usually order a 150' roll for another car if needed, and plenty for mistakes. I get 3M or a comparable equivaleny (get it on line, type in pinstripe tape). Size is 3/16 double black (or whatever color), it's broken down as 1/16 black stripe, 1/16 wide center space, 1/16 black stripe, total 3/16th" wide.
Clean the surface for the strped area, with Windex and a paper towe, then after, wipe down the area with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing kind, not the hard stuff). The surface will be ready for the stripes to adhere.
Of course peel off the backing and gently tap with your fingertip when applying so if not just right, you can lift off and do again.
You want to keep just some slight pressure pull while applying, but don't stretch it. Gently run your finger on the tape to keep it in place.
You want to give the ends at least a foot to play with when making your points. Next is to peel back the clear top and gently remove all off on the stripe. On the ends, peel the bottom tape and move around to make your point to your liking. Same with the other end. Use a fresh safety razor blade to separate the tape by door openings, and when down, use the blade to cut off the excess at the ends.
Once completed, use clear fingarnail polish coating, get a tooth pick or Q-Tip, cut the Q in half, then with either, put a small dab of the clear coating on each end, this will stop the ends form lifting up when wiping the surface.
Then use the clear polish coating brush and coat the ends of the stripes that are at the door opening, will have same result.
No rubbing on the stripes for about a week, needs time for the glue to cure. A damp cloth to wipe off the dust is fine.
Once you do a few, piece of cake. Practice on another car to get the hang of it, then pull the tape off.
I tried a single stripe and didn't like it. The double thin stripe is easy to find. It is a rewarding DIY. I tried a number of styles before I was satisfied. Easy to remove. This was my first try at pinstriping. I got mine at one of the auto parts stores.
