I have been using SMS along with my IPhone for GPS. I was on a trip and half way to the destination I lost the map on the screen . I had to use my phone after this. I have tried to use it numerous times but still doesn't work. Short of going to the dealer, does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

Does CarPlay work at all? Phone over CarPlay? SMS? If so, phone and cable are probably OK, but Google maps may need an update.
Does phone charge OK?
Try all three USB ports - behind screen and in center console.
Try a different cable.
Unpair phone, update phone (Operating system, CarPlay and other apps) as needed, repair phone to the car.
Disconnect negative battery cable for 30 minutes or so - you will have to reindex windows.
Always try cheap and easy fixes first.

i use infotainment nav/sirius to see traffic slow downs, using my phone if i really need to get someplace is so much easier to enter the address!!.
