Does the 2014 model year have any issues mechanical or otherwise other years don't have? Would a different model year be better or doesn't matter?
Thanks
I had a '14 3lt premier edition. You'll probably get a TON of replies saying the dashboard leather on 3lt's. I now have a '15 3lt vert and I've had ZERO dash problems. Personally I think it's just blown out of proportion. The old "oh, I heard" or "I read... " syndrome....
As for mechanical; IF you are vigilant with maintenance AND follow the manufactures advice, I doubt you'd have any issues.
But, as with any used purchase; have a good Vette tech check it out.
You will get many opinions on this, and it is worth a search since it comes up frequently.
That said, the 2014 has the A6 transmission if you are looking at automatics. It has been around and doesn't have many problems if maintained according to the schedule. The C7 had a great introductory year. Obviously, some things about the car get better with later releases, but I felt completely comfortable getting into a sparsely optioned 2014 1LT. That said, make sure to thoroughly inspect the dash for bubbles, which is known as delamination (a word I hate). Search for that here too.
Maybe belt tensioner or torque tube - but bear mind this is across the board on C7's. I read this question multiple times and any c7 that was properly maintained didn't seem to have any "year specific" issues. The main differences you'll find between the models is introduction of apple car play etc.

My 2014 has needed a new belt tensioner and a new infotainment screen since I bought it in 2018. Everything else has worked perfectly. I do not have the 3LT package - mine is a 2LT.
i wanted an auto but didn't trust the a8 from '15-'19, so chose the 2014 z51 3lt with the bulletproof a6 from c6 gen!!
I switched from a base 2016 A8 3LT coupe to a 2014 A6 for the same reason. I’m much happier with the A6 transmission. It’s buttery smooth. Mine just happens to be a Z51, but I wasn’t necessarily looking for that. But I did specifically want the 2LT trim to avoid possible bubbling of the dashboard.
I have the 2014 A6 3LT, leather dash. Love it. My dash is still ok. I wonder if the dash hasn't delaminated by now, it will be ok. Maybe if it's parked in super hot sun for long periods of time can cause this issue.
