Default Radio Screen

Curious what the criteria is for operating the radio screen up down button.

Hop in the car with remote in pocket and screen button does nothing.

Start car - nothing, back down the driveway screen shows back camera but the button does nothing

Go in first button does nothing

Drive about a block and screen will go up and down

get to work and stop and park car, engine stopped - screen will go up and down

just confused..............

Mine goes up or down when ever I press the button, if it is down when I put it in reverse it goes up to show the back up camera and stays up until I press the button again.
No criteria that I know of other than it must be up when in reverse.

Sounds like maybe a loose connection or flexible cable going bad.

The button should work any time the car is not in reverse. The screen will will go up and stay up while in reverse.

So do I, it's the safest way to park..... and it's also an M7.
I do not exhibit any of the problems you're experiencing.

"Driving about a block and screen goes up and down

Doesn't have anything to do with parking in reverse.
That sounds like something shorting out or triggering a circuit action

Anyone know how to get this secondary screen to go away??
This just happened after the first week

Trying to play Bluetooth via Spotify, and now all the sudden I cant see the song names, and artist and instead this secondary screen blocks it. Tried every damn soft and hard button, and I am not new to stereos

Pay no mind to the “no device connected”
Connected or not, this screen blocks it

Guess I should have added after driving a block the screen will go up and down while pressing the button - not by itself no ghost in the machine yet........

no need to contact GM customer service - believe now it's user error!

To get rid of the radio buttons in POST #8: touch the screen above the center of the rows you want to make go away (at the yellow dot to make all 3 rows go away) and swipe down. It may take a few tries to get the correct spot and timing.

How do the preset buttons get called up? In my experience, by accident!

I tend to keep 1 row of 5 buttons displayed. You can swipe the row left or right to see other rows - yes, it is a PITA to find the right spot to touch and swipe. You can limit how many buttons are active and displayed in radio settings.

On some displays there is an arrow pointing up along the right bottom edge of the screen. Swiping this up will display the buttons. Then you have the frustration of trying to swipe them down again.

Just be patient and play with the screen. You'll eventually get the hang of it.
