I have a 2014 and the navigation voice recognition is poor. This seems to be a common problem. It has a lot of difficulty understanding names and addresses. I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck setting the system back to factory defaults. I thought I would ask before trying on my own and losing all my preset information.
Any advice on improving vr performance is appreciated!
Have you updated the NAV software to a current version? If it's on the original 2014 version, an update may help. Personally, I've never had issues with factory NAV. It has been some time since I started using Android Auto, so I use the NAV system there now. Good luck getting sorted!
Voice recognition is a POS. Nav functions are better but the database tends to be poor. GM no longer provides NAV updates so each of us are stuck with whatever version we have.
Background noise interferes with voice recognition. The Corvette is a noisy environment - wind, road, engine, and exhaust noise. Voice recognition works best at idle...
LOL. I don't think car noise is the problem. It still doesn't recognize voice commands in the garage with car off. Very frustrating I guess I will just enter manually.
OK, just a thought. You may try a factory reset, but I doubt it will help. I also find voice recognition on addresses poor. Now trying to train a new Subaru to my midwest accent. Of course the command syntax is different too.

No more NAV updates for car owners but no problem to continue to provide our driving information to insurance companies… Sorry, I guess I woke up cranky today.
