Default Trunk will not open

UPDATE: It now works. The only thing different is that I put the top up. So as @WestDads suggested, maybe that was the problem. The combination of me inserting the key and not opening the trunk (the top was down at the time) and not actually opening it probably messed up the sequence signaling in the fob or something. I drove it to work and put the top up. I went out at lunch just to try it and it works.

My trunk will not open with the interior button or with the remote. I had replaced the battery two days ago and it was working just fine. The only thing I can think of is yesterday I showed another C7 owner about the hidden key and how to open the trunk in case of battery failure. I did stick the key in but did not turn it to open it and took it out. Aside from that, there was nothing done on the trunk. Any ideas or solutions? Thanks.

Read through the following thread to see if anything applies/helps, especially the 'vert comments:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...e-trunk-2.html

Make sure that your top is up and locked since you have a rag top / vert.

I think that was the problem. See my update in my original post. Thanks!

Great that you got it working again without having to take it to a dealer,
