I thought I could live with this rattle in my '14 Z51 but it's just getting worse. It's coming from the passenger side near the door but I can't detect it. Funny thing is, when I open my DRIVER door, the rattle completely stops which is weird because the rattle is on the opposite side of the car. Note that the rattle only occurs on idle, i.e. low RPM. It's perfectly fine while driving. I've had the car for a month and I'm not happy about this. I realize that a car is going to have issues at 50k miles but this is crazy. Does anybody have any ideas?
Check the Targa top to make sure the O-ring is in place above the passenger seat. Opening the driver door might temporarily improve the top's ability to seat. Based on your description, this might not be it, but it's worth a look.
Also, for the front of the top.

Thank you but the top was off. Rattle occurs whether the top is off or on.
Check passenger side seat belt buckle - it can rattle against the door jamb area.
Look for loose stuff in console, glove box, on the floor under / behind seats, cargo area, under the cargo area, and storage area under the rear floor on the driver's side.

I had a passenger side rattle in my 15Z when I took delivery. It took two mechanics going for a ride to find it. It was the interior panel around quarter window. It was rubbing against something and they put a piece of single-sided rubber tape on the spot and the rattle was gone.

Sounds can travel in strange ways. Very strange that opening the left door stops a right door rattle. Try pushing up on the black plastic cover below the mirror and see if that helps. Good luck finding it.

I was staring to hear some minor squeaks from my top (something that I had just learned to live with in my previous, C5, Vette). The C7 was so much smoother and tighter than my old C5, that even this minor squeak was ... troubling. I watched the video about putting the gaskets on the top's front pins and thought "Heck, that's easy, I'll give it a try." Damn -- worked like a charm and super-simple and easy to do. No more squeak. Very glad for this tip -- thanks.

Problem solved and repaired. The passenger side door speaker was blown. Not a cheap fix but it's fixed.
