why, battery sits in the back without hot/cold cycles experienced in the engine compartment??
Predicting battery life is like predicting the stock market.
I used to replace our C5/C6 battery every three years as a precaution.
When we bought our new 2017, the battery was totally dead from sitting in dealer storage for 6 months. Charged it up, then replaced it as a precaution at 3 years though it was still strong. The new Delco replacement, always on a tender when not being driven daily and living in the cool trunk instead of a hot engine compartment, died after 3 years.

i had an original battery in the back of a mercedes make it to 7 years by date stamp on battery!!
batt in the back of the 2017 failing after 3 years.......i'm thinking being on the tender killed it!!
My thought also.. I would like to get feedback on the battery tender if it shortens the life of a battery. I have never used one and have never had a battery issue.
I keep mine on a tender. The original made it just a couple weeks past 6 years to the day it was made. Same with my 2013 C6. Nearly 6 years to the day.
It also depends if you purchase a 10 year battery or a 3 year battery. If a 10 year battery lasts 6 years,, not so good, if a 3 year battery lasts 6 years, really good.
