I finally saw the little black wire on the negative cable. Not sure why it always seems to break.

I usually disassemble everything for ease of replacement.

But then i'm kinda good at things like this.

Never had any trouble even once.

And yes, the 'little black wire' was poorly engineered and way too weak.

By design assuredly….

Its to get the typical Corvette buyer to end up at the dealership paying gobs of cash for simple repairs..

After reading most owners dont know how to get more then 3-5 years out of a flooded battery with desulfation cycles and PM, its not surprising.

Predicting battery life is like predicting the stock market.
I used to replace our C5/C6 battery every three years as a precaution.
When we bought our new 2017, the battery was totally dead from sitting in dealer storage for 6 months. Charged it up, then replaced it as a precaution at 3 years though it was still strong. The new Delco replacement, always on a tender when not being driven daily and living in the cool trunk instead of a hot engine compartment, died after 3 years.

My thought also.. I would like to get feedback on the battery tender if it shortens the life of a battery. I have never used one and have never had a battery issue.

I keep mine on a tender. The original made it just a couple weeks past 6 years to the day it was made. Same with my 2013 C6. Nearly 6 years to the day.

It also depends if you purchase a 10 year battery or a 3 year battery. If a 10 year battery lasts 6 years,, not so good, if a 3 year battery lasts 6 years, really good.
