Default Soler throttle controller question

I have had my controller for a few years and just now tried the lock function. When I tried to go back to the option page it would not let me . I had to completely shut my I phone down and reboot my phone . Is this normal ?

In my experience, that is NOT normal. I've toggled the Lock setting multiple times with no need to restart the app, much less my phone. (FWIW, I use an Android, rather than an iPhone.)

I just went out and tried again and it worked like it should . Maybe I lost my blue tooth connection the first time .

Not normal - but seems like you fixed it. Make sure you're app is up to date with the latest firmware. Access the site and compare the versions of your app vs what's on the site.

I'm going to piggy back questions since it's relevant. Can the lock feature be used without any of the increased throttle modes? Also does the lock need to be turned on & then off each time the car needs to move? I only want the lock feature.

I'm no pro with this so here is my opinion .When I tried my lock a few hours ago I had the setting on original equipment and it locked so I think yes it will lock on any setting .
As for your other question , yes when you put it in lock the pedal does nothing so to move the car you have to unlock it .

In a word, the answer to your first question is YES. Lock mode effectively DISABLES the throttle, regardless of setting when you engage it Unlocking returns back to what the setting in effect when lock was enabled.

The answer to your second question is also YES, assuming you want to use it that way.

While not iron-clad, it's a nice tool to have in the anti-theft toolbox.

I had pedal commander on my Charger. It was just way to twitchy. Couldn't keep a constant low speed in traffic. Now have the manual, I I think it would be worse in traffic. I drive in a lot of traffic.

I've lost connection to the controller once and had to do the same thing.

Not the norm but I guess it does happen.

No such problem with Soler in my M7 Z, including driving it thru LA on Route 66 a couple of years ago.

I have the Soler with the M7 and don't experience what you're describing and I'm generally in SP6 on the throttle controller (along with sport mode in the Vette). I was concerned how it would interact with the manual and spoke with the team at Soler about how it engages with the clutch/manual. I don't regret the purchase one bit. They have a very good money-back guarantee, maybe give Soler a shot and see for yourself? And no, I'm not a paid spokesperson, just a guy who waited to pull the trigger on it for two years and wish I would have done it much sooner

I have to close and reopen the app when I get back to my car, to unlock. So now when I lock it, I just close the app. Then open the app, when I return to the car

If your question is about the Soler TC, the answer is they are NOT VIN-locked, making them portable between cars (of the same type).
