Why not find a detailing company that comes to the house and wash and vacuum out the car, we have three different trucks that comes to neighbor houses and does great job they charge $40.00, I asked.
other vehicles for several years, last 2 yearsi take '04 c5 + 2014 z51 3lt thru auto car wash weekly!! quick wipe down for water spots + air nozzle each bay for nooks/crannies!!
This car wash near me is the bomb! It's "wheel safe" with its conveyor belt vs rail and the brushes are made of a low density foam. Sadly though, I had to stop using them because I noticed a tiny area on my XPEL PPF that was trying to lift up from the pressure nozzles.

Same here ... I wash it by hand most of the year (bucket / soft towels) but before I put it away for the winter I run it through a local touchless car wash. Never any issues.
Occasionally a touchless where you drive in and park, then the mechanism moves around you. Just fold in the mirrors. Usually a coin op with set to high pressure rinse followed by spot free rinse (soft water) then through the air blower.
I'm not a fan of doing a mini detail every week. What I've done, is have it hand washed at a local detail shop . BUT I never ever run it thru a car wash.
At 82, do whatever you want to do to keep that car clean. My Dad at 76 years old just had his second knee surgery and I don’t think he will ever ride in the corvette again. So, drive that car how you want to drive it, and wash that car how you want to wash it. Have as much fun as you can.

I have only washed a car once in the last 30 some years. Always been an auto car wash whatever car it is. Car won't melt if it is a decent one. Owner, well, totally different story.
I will not run my car thru any car wash I will always pay extra for them to hand wash there have been many problems with them .gm also suggests never to do that with ur vette it's not good for ur expensive paint jobs jmo.

Not sure if they have them around that much. For a true hand wash, you got to make an appointment during the week and either leave it or wait for them to do their work around here. Paying is one issue. It DEFINITELY will cost a bunch more. If you daily drive it, it gets spendy to do it every week and that is the EASY part. As to time, well, that is going to be way more. I send it for a detail when I pick it up from storage. Rest of the time, it gets a wash maybe a couple times a month. More if it hits some mud or gets rained on and dust blows on it.
Just tried to get a lower steering shaft for someone with a 2012 Caddy. It was so obsolete, nothing was on the shelves, Parts Giant, etc, etc. Yeah, I think parts are going to be a bigger issue than the paint by the time the car is 15 years old. Planning to be trading it in by then.
