Just looking to see if i can find a previous owner for a 2014 Lime rock green A6. Was purchased from Jim Ellis and traded/sold through in a couple times in the past.
Had some minor damage on the passenger door. Looks like it was enough damage the door skin should be replaced at this point. But didnt see anything structural from pictures so far.
Figured since we have quite a few members in the Atlanta area around, maybe the previous owner(s) was around. More for just looking for history that might be untold from what i'm seeing documented so far. Short of he drive test failing miserably pretty sure ill be keeping the deal i have inked so far.
Does CarFax say the car is an Atlanta car by service records?
Check with the dealer on VIS records and see where the car had been serviced in the past and that will give you an idea where it lived in the past.
There are regional sections on this forum that you can post in once the location history is established,
I've been denied any previous information under different owneship, by several dealers. They would not provide and history under a previois owner, period.
Car fax can be valuable tool showing where a vehicle lived, what and who provided service, but a lot of shops do not share these records. Tons more valuable work and repairs may have been done, but simply not shared. Car Fax is like pulling teeth to get any further info from and takes sometimes many weeks to even respond that they will not cooperate. I had a car fax reporting the vehicle was stolen and recovered. The dealer selling it disclosed they purchased it from a bank who had repossed the Corvette. The owner had reported it as stolen (probably for nefarious purposes) the state of residence reported it to Car Fax. We all have seen enough movies and TV shows showing how bad stolen cars are treated. Who would want to pay big bucks for a stolen Corvette or try to resell it? I spent many weeks with car fax, round and round to change or amend their stolen car report based on my research. Aftet about 10 correspondences, their final result was to tell me the steps to start the inquiry process. I didn't have more weeks of stone walling so I dropped it. I hope you get what you need. It will greatly help if you have some inside contacts, lol.
They have to repair the door before i will take ownership. Likely a week or so.
I do have the car fax .. looks like it was bought at sold at the Jim Ellis In atlanta almost each time. Figured since its the Lime Rock green 14 i might have a bit of a chance.
Nothing critical, just figured i could try.
Wasn't expecting the dealer to share anything it was simply, cant be too many musem delivered lime rocks in Atlanta
Id love to find who got my original 98 i traded in years ago. Could have gave them so much detail. Hid a couple name and address contacts, but guess they got found when cleaned. (In that case, heads, cam, tuning, down to modifying the LS1 with some, or the functional z06 ducts)
One thing you could try is to ask the dealer if they would be willing to reach out to the previous owner for you. That way the dealer isn't giving out personal info (which they wouldn't do anyhow) and you can put it on the previous owner to contact you if they wish. It's a long shot but doesn't hurt to ask.

p o may not want to be contacted, especially if he didn't disclose problem areas....................just getting rid of vehicle!!
