Default 2017 Base wheels

I'm new to C7's and have a wheel question. My base model came with 18 and 19 inch wheels. Do any of the 19 and 20 inch OEM wheels have the same offset and width as the 18 and 19's. I realize the GS and Z06 wheels are wider. Thanks for any info.

Z51 spec wheels will fit a base. Many do this upgrade.

That seems like a low-impact upgrade - switch the 19s from the rear to the front, and buy new 20s (wheels and tires) for the rear. Or is there more to it that I'm not seeing?

19's came stock with the 19/20. So any of the Z51 rims will fit fine.

I am not sure the 19x10 rears will fit up front on a narrow body car.

Yes, the Z51, 19/20 wheels fit perfectly on the Stingray body. After all, the Z51 is a Stingray narrow body.
I went the opposite direction, taking the 19/20 wheels off and replacing them with forged 18/19 for a smoother street ride.

Great thought.

But considering wheel offsets, the rear wheel offset is greater than the front wheel offset by 23mm. This would bring the wheel inboard nearly one inch. Then add the additional wheel width that would be brought inboard, too. There could be interference problems, but I'm not really sure how much room there is to play with.

Better disregard my earlier comment (post #4). I forgot the rears were wider than the fronts.

Ha, I am thinking going opposite on my Z51 and going 18/19. Looking for black OEM base rims. I believe the Z51 wheels are forged? Anyone back that up? If they are forged, wonder if the base are too.

If you go to Tire Rack or other wheel sellers search for 2016 Stingray and you will get the 18/19 wheels. Search for 2019 Stingray and you get the 19/20s. Widths are identical and offsets will be identical or within a few mms.

I like the Tire Rack American Racing AR 29 wheels for Stingray . They are very lite. Maybe flow forged. They remind me of the wheels that came with my 2013 427.

For a real "driver" I'd stay with the smaller diameter set (18" & 19") for the slightly extra tire sidewall height. The base and Z51 wheels are quite durable (compared to the OEM widebody), but a little extra protection for so little change in appearance would decide it for me. All the best, in any event.

I am interested in a trade of factory Z51 wheels chrome 19 front and 20 back for OEM or aftermarket 18-19 in same width and offset for my 2016 C7A8 base car with the Z51 wheel package. Send me a message if interested.

Thanks for the offer but shipping would kill us. I'm trying to buy local. By the way I love the Greenville area. I'm in Texas but I went to high school in Fayetteville.

For base model 2014-15 Stingrays with those 5 spoke 18/19 wheels, they just scream "early" C7 and I wanted to modernize. I also updated the Bose audio system to support Apple CarPlay and replaced the steering wheel to get the flat bottom style like the 2016 and up cars.

I went with Factory Reproduction (FR22) chrome Z06 style wheels in the original 18/19 size with all season Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. The slightly larger sidewall rides well and regular body width Stingrays have no history of bending or cracking wheels like the widebody Z06 and Grand Sports.

I like those Z06 reps, but man, are they a bitch to clean? Lots of spokes. Chrome looks great on red. My Z51 wheels are forged , so so hard to give up. I don't find them dated looking, just like some other designs a bit better. I like the ZR1 replicas and I like the Grand Sport design which is like those American Racing 924. I want gloss black too. The Z06 come in gloss. AR's satin ( look dirty all the time to me) and the FR ZR1 design is satin or Carbon Black. Not sure what Carbon Black actually looks like.
