Default Torn on wheels

I'm torn between the Apex VS-5RS and the Wheel Designers GS01 for my 2018 GS.

****************UPDATE*****************
I went with Precision Forged for a set of wheels that mimic the OEM Grand Sport wheels but a little less backspace (like the GS01). They are only 2700 shipped/tax and would be done in 6 weeks.
Seems like a hard deal to pass up!
They are also going to engrave Z07 into the inner lip (where the oem wheel says CORVETTE, which I think will also look pretty cool.
The Apex would be my second pick, thanks to everyone's input here, THANK YOU, but I am more of a fan of the Apex with the wider tires that people have posted and don't want to replace a brand new set of tires just for that, making the Apex significantly more money.
With PF wheels, I save about $1,300 over the GS01, have less of a wait AND get the Z07 engraving. I'll be sure to report back about the quality/timeframe/experience I have with Precision Forged.
*****************UPDATE*****************

The GS01

The Apex

GS01
Pros:
- I know I love the look of the OEM wheel on my car.
- My brand new, stock sized tires will fit on them with no issue
- Offer a 5 year finish warranty
- Available in Carbon Flash
Cons:
- They are $500 more expensive than the Apex
- They are 8 weeks out for delivery

APEX
Pros:
- They look awesome
- They are 1/2 wider front and rear
- They are $500 less expensive than the GS01
- They are available now
- They offer damaged wheel replacement at 50% of new cost
Cons
- They are 1/2 wider front and rear, making me assume I'll need new tires for them.
- I don't know if I'll like the look as much as the OEM GS wheels on my car
- Only have a 1 year finish warranty
- Would be black vs Carbon Flash

I don't know much about the quality of these wheels but assume they are like quality?

Personally, I prefer a long warranty on wheels. Sometimes problems don't start until after the first year. Especially if you daily throughout all 4 seasons.

I would ignore prices and put my priority in this order:
Warranty
Looks & fitment
Lead time
Cost

I prefer the GS01 myself. Just cleaner. Plus I love the Grand Sport OEM wheel look.

GS01 in black.

Not to throw a wrench in the machine but I was looking at the GS01's before I sold my C7 Grand Sport (have a Z06 now). I was torn between the Wheel Designers GS01 and the Forgedlite MC5. They're still mono-block forged but less expensive ($1000 less I think). That's not why I wanted them though. I just wanted the more spider/thinner spoke look. I thought if I'm spending that kind of dough, I wanted a different look. They're both sold by Wheel designers.

The "cons" that you list would be the deciding factor for me.

We didn't bother comparing with other manufacturers, we knew we liked the OEM design so went with the GS01 in polished and clear-coated.

When I need to replace my stock GS wheels I will get the GS01

I know it's a hard decision.

Good luck

The company I bought mine from was able to take my car and photoshop the wheels onto it. Might help you make a decision.

I bought the Apex wheels in sizes that fit my car and tires. I left the up to a local shop.

Very light weight. There is more room between the spokes and brake calipers which is a plus when washing.
EDIT: And they survived a major pothole impact although one was bent and had to be straightened.

Only 'negative' is water puddles behind the upper spokes when washing so a shot with a leaf blower or moving one's car a little before drying is recommended.

From a looks perspective, I like the Apex wheels more. However, the five year warranty versus the one year warranty on the finish and the availability in carbon flash would lead me to getting the GS01 wheels.

Cons
- They are 1/2 wider front and rear, making me assume I'll need new tires for them.

Tires will be fine with the 1/2 inch. Unfortunately if you are going with black you won't be able to tell the difference between the two from a distance. That's the big negative with black wheels. The main reason I'm buying new ones. 😬

I like the motorsport look of the APEX wheels. I had APEX ARC8 wheels on my BMW 328i in satin black and loved them. Very high quality. Hard to argue with the warranty on the other wheel.
