The only time I have gotten wind noise from my convertible, was when I had the top down and the windows open. Otherwise, it was quiet, except of course for the C4. The difference between 3 layers of fabric and five.

Make sure the window is indexing properly when the door is opened. If incorrectly indexed It is possible the window isn't seated inside the top weatherstrip and is riding on the outside of the top weatherstrip instead of inside the gap. To index the window properly lower it all the way and hold the window button in the down position for a few seconds then raise the window all the way and hold the button in the up position for a few seconds.
