I'm looking for a C7 and found this one. I like the colors but to me, the price seems high for the year/miles/options. Would love to get other opinions on the price and if you can give a suggested offer that would be great as well.
I, personally, wouldn't purchase a base model but, that price does seem a bit higher than I think they have the right to command given the year, mileage, and transmission. To that end, even if you did purchase it for that price, it wouldn't be the end of the world but, if you traded it in within the next year or so, I think you'd really feel that hit then.
Looks like a nice car, but I agree with ZEEOSIX's opinion that the car is on the high side considering dealer fees and taxes on top of that. I used to have a 2014 Z51 before getting a Z06 and a few quirks I noticed between both cars I would look out for are:
Center armrest: My Z51 had a bubble form where your elbow rests. I think it was from the previous owner constantly leaving it there, compressing the foam but it is something that bothered me. It looks like the one you're looking at has a couple ripples in it. Not too bad to replace but something to consider.
The radios on both cars would sometimes cut out for a split second when playing music via Bluetooth. Not sure if this would apply to you though. If it does, I noticed if you switch music apps (ex: Spotify - Soundcloud - Apple Music), you have to switch to the radio and then back to media for the music to play from your phone.
Watch out for any lines that show up on screen when you shift into reverse. My Z has a tiny line whenever the backup camera is on which doesn't detract from being able to see but it is annoying.
One thing to check is the inside treat depth on the tires, especially the front. My Z51 had the "track" alignment and I found out the fronts were corded after buying
In terms of an offer, I'd say the car's worth somewhere in the low to mid 30's based on mileage and spec. IMO I'd try to find a Z51 car, better brakes, dry sump, closer gear ratios, and a good amount of them come with mag ride. If you do look at a 3LT, make sure to look at the dash for peeling!!! My Z has it and it bothers me to no end! Hope this helps your search, they're really fun cars!
Agree the price is a bit high in today's market. Prices have been dropping. It is 2016 though so . I like the options and not sure you would miss the Z51 upgrades unless you tried it. In particular I mean the Mag Ride suspension. I love the way mine rides but have never driven one without it. I can use my 22 Tahoe as a comparison though. I test drove a base suspension model and thought it was great . Now I have a Mag Ride model and can feel the difference. I need switchable exhaust. This doesn't have it unless I missed it. That's the deal breaker for me I am 66 yrs old and love being able to change the exhaust. I even put a Mild 2 Wild switch. The 2LT is a bonus over 3LT for the dash leather reasons stated . There are tons of these cars out there so worth taking your time.
When, I was looking at C8's recently, a Dealership offered me $40,000 for a 2016 Z51, Roadster, 3LT, Magnetic Ride Control, Red Calipers, Carbon Flash Package, new Michelin Tires, with 29,492 miles, with no defects, and GM Protection Package inspection. Carmax offered $39,000.
The price is a couple K high. Kelley Blue Book's Private Party high value if the car is considered a 1 condition car would be $37K. Dealers probably get a little more since most will be on the hook to provide at least a minimal warranty. However, what are the chances the car is a 1 condition car. The vast majority aren't. After 9 years and 53K miles it has had at least some door dings, road rash and other things that happen to cars while being used. It is more than likely a 2 or 3 condition car and you won't know until you look at it. Pictures don't reveal everything.
No. 1LT is the base model. I assume the other poster was probably saying "base" as in it's not a Z51, Grand Sport, or Z06.
I bought a 2014 2LT Z51 with 49k miles back in May for $42k So based on what I paid in it seems like a good deal but I also haven't paid attention to the market to see what prices are now. It's the off season depending on where you live so that will lower the price.

Way over priced for miles it has and non z51.
pits a 40k car at best.
I have a 2016 Z51 2lt same color. 35k miles. Payed 42k. A year ago. And the markets gotten softer since.
I would ask if there is a warranty of any sort. I don't need much. Just a month or two to have my tech do a PDI on it. If not, I have to have a tech that is independent of them do it.
From the pictures it looks like a pretty clean car and I love the color but the price does look high considering the mileage. I just bought a 2017 and in my search I found price to vary considerably with mileage. I'd try about $36,500 and go from there. If it's a one owner with good tires no more than 3 years old and checks out mechanically (specifically the transmission) I'd go a little more. Just my opinion. Good luck.
I recently bought a C7, 2 weeks ago. A lot of variability in pricing. This not way out of line but a few things to consider.
- does it have the equipment / options you want? This is first and foremost. For me I had a set of "minimum" trim and options. and a set of nice to have options/colors. I've looked at hundreds on autotrader and cars.com and only a few met my criteria
- age/mileage you are happy with?
- any maintenance records? That was big for me, mine had regular maintenance at dealers logged in carfax. Get a PPI if you can. I could not but selling dealer had Corvette techs and was seemingly well inspected. Can't totally trust but I knew I have greater risk when buying cross country.
- This one has a nice color and interior combo.
It does have the 2LT package, but other than that it’s a bare-bones base model. Doesn't even have the NPP performance exhaust. Nothing wrong with that if it’s what you want, but it should be priced accordingly.
2016+ model years have a few standard options that the predecessors did not have, i.e Apple car play, cameras, etc. I have that exact car and I'm thrilled with it, try to get the dealer to knock the price down.
