Hey all, have a 17 Z06 and am considering changing the exhaust. I've narrowed down to AWE touring or Borla S or Attak. Got the car last summer and it already has a stage 1 Texas speed cam, ARH headers, and x pipe.
I don't mind loud, but prefer a good deep tone without drone. I've listened to a ton of vids, etc but not finding one's already cammed, etc. Any guidance which way to go or anyone have cars with a cam and any of those exhaise set ups?
I know AWE doesn't allow NPP and im not sure if like how the tips stick out.
Have you thought about a Corsa exhaust - no drone on their systems.
I've looked at it but the price steered me away and i thought Borla and AWE had a deeper sound, but all I've had to go by are vids. I just can't see spending over 3k on an exhaust. I have an 02 WS6 with ARH headers, you pipe and GMMG exhaust. Love the sound of it and had in it what Corsa runs. I guess Vette tax is real lol
It should be pretty good with the NPP open. Cost $0
I have it set to run in track mode. Is there something else I'm missing? Previous owner said something about pulling a fuse but would that be just like leaving it on track mode? I would like it to have a deeper sound and be a bit louder.
Go into your sound management that's the settings you want
I went into Engine Management and set it to Track mode. I've read that the NPP valves still close at certain points and pulling fuse 42 supposedly fixes that. I have noticed driving in manual mode seems to help some. Around town it wanted to go in 5th, 6th or 7th gear in auto mode and I couldn't even hear it in the car.
We can save you some $$ on the AWE or Borla, got both in stock. I would say get the Borla to keep NPP since you have a full exhaust, having the valves will be nice.

Would you recommend Borla S over Attak or how do they differ in tone? I know Attak is supposed to be louder but does it lose some of the deeper tone?
I have AWE touring with their X-pipe on a stock engine. I like the sound and don't mind losing control of the exhaust valves, but that bothers some people. I like my setup. It's loud on start-up (most of them are) and then quiets down. If you want loud all the time, I would go with another brand, or the AWE track. Touring can be pretty mild when just cruising around but can really get loud when you open it up.

I was leaning AWE touring at first but the more I looked at it, I'm not crazy about the tips sticking out and hiw they bolt on. I think with a cam and headers the track would drone bad and get raspy. I looked at Billy boat as mentioned earlier and really like how the tips are already made into it. It's just hard to tell much by listening to vids. I'd definitely prefer a good deep, loud tone. I know they're all loud but I like a good deep rumble. If I lose NPP function I'm not opposed. Whole point of the exhaust, cam, etc is to be loud
Have Billy Boat with speedway tips on my 2017 nice deeper tone. But at steady state hwy speed with no drone. Also the over the axle pipes are 3".
I'm seeing a PRT, Fusion,Fusion, and Bullet exhaust listed? Which way did you do with yours? Looks like you can keep the NPP valves active and quiet it down with the BB also?
The build quality is better then good it is outstanding. I do not know if it significantly loader but it is louder then stock and its tone is defiantly deeper then stock.
