Sharing some more of my custom work that I've been doing on my c7. At this point, I'm about done with the driver side and I've started on the passenger side.
In the pics:
- custom door panels: top is red nappa, bottom and arm rest are black alcantara. Through the middle is a black nappa/black alcantara woven fabric (I have some work to do on this part once it warms up, this pulled away a bit when I reinstalled).
- custom dash: red nappa wrapped
- custom batwing: black alcantara with red stitching
- custom center console and dash: all black with red controls
- custom lower dash (not pictured): black alcantara with red stitiching
- custom steering wheel: Bought the steering wheel from executive steering, but made the horn bad myself (red nappa and black alcantara). I did get a horn pad from them, but it sucked. Not a great company to buy from, if anyone wants feedback, dm me.
How did you do the small red accents on the window switches, vent *****, middle of the HVAC controls ?
Took everything apart, sanded the chrome pieces, and then painted and finished with a flat clear poly.
The hardest part was certainly taking the door switches and air vents apart. To get the chrome parts away from the switch and air vents, you have to get a small, super-thin tool to pry with and go slow. The chrome trim just snaps into the door switch and air vents. I used a micro screwdriver for electronics. Again, you have to go slow or you will damage the plastic chrome parts when you pry them out. I damaged the door switch and had to order a new one and try again. But, after that, I got the hang of it. The parts around the radio were easy, you just push the buttons from the back and they come out and the radio buttons just comes out on their own, but you have to take the entire part with those buttons apart. Oh, I did the drive mode button and the parking break switch on the center console as well. The parking break switch is like the air vents.
