Hello, I have a 2019 LT-1. 7M and noticed this morning after starting in after several days a real loud drone sound that fills the cabin. It did t stop until I drove 3 miles or so. Got out of car no noise, after maybe 40 min started it back up, noise is back untill I got 3 Mile's home then stopped, I mean it was so loud car is 100% stock even exhaust and 31 k miles I know if I take it to dealer it will stop before I get there, help!
Since you mention exhaust noise, it may potentially be a catalytic converter or muffler starting to separate internally and expanding enough to reseal when up to temp for a while.
I just discovered something else interesting on. My c7 else, I only hear it when door are closed and windows, up a defining sound oam seriou that changes with rpm, open the door and cabin drone goes away. ???????
Took my c7 to the dealer this morning On the drone sound so I'll see what thry say. I did notice when car was in service lane the back of the car was full of this powdery stuff, kinda stringy hanging all over back of car you could just blow it off, could that be a cat given up , maybe that's the drone noise is coming from
If the drone noise stops when the door is opened, it is a problem with the Active Noise Cancelling system, which is part of the Bose amplifier unit.
To verify this, turn off the engine, then unplug the connectors of the Bose Amp, located on the left side of the cargo area, under the carpet and the lid on the floor. Then start the engine and see if the drone is gone (with the doors closed).
Did the rear cargo area get wet recently? If water leaks into the compartment where the amp (and other modules and the rear fusebox is located), the Bose amp is usually the first to get damaged.
