coolant level (2014 LT1 Stingray)
I know that his question must have been several times already but, I cannot for the life of me, find the coolant level indicator marks on the reservoir. If its where I think it is (on the front of the reservoir, right next to the fuse box). I do not see how this can read.
With the space allowed, the best that I do, is just feel what appears to be level markings. Am I looking in the correct spot? On a cold engine with reservoir cap off, I can barely see liquid in the tank. Suggestions?

Yea, my '15 is like that too. I can see coolant when I look in but seems low in reservoir. Cold fill line is at the seam about half way up if I remember correctly. I made a cardboard dipstick and level is pretty much at the cold line. Low coolant warning light would come on if low. Use a flashlight and you can see the cold line. Maybe put a magic marker line on it?
Once I'm sure of the correct level, I will be marking it. I've only this car for a few months and am still sorting out its 'peculiarities'. Luckily, not many so far, but a few.
I am/was chasing, what is so far hopefully just an anomaly. The coolant gauge so far, seems to settle right at 220°F regardless of load or traffic conditions. The issue that pops up frequently is that it will jump to 240° - 250° in about 5-10 seconds. It will hang there for maybe 15-20 seconds, then drop back to 220° in about 5 second.
I've changed both the ECT sensor and thermostat (separately). Neither made any difference. When checking the coolant when cold, the reservoir seemed low to me. Like hardly any liquid present. I did add (3) 1/2 liter bottle of water. This at least seemed to make the coolant at bit more present.
Thanks for the suggestions though!

Seems odd. My '15 never seems to get over 195-205 and digital readout matches analog gauge exactly. Only had mine since Sept '24 and haven't had it in 95* bumper to bumper traffic so it would probably be higher. Fans turning on as they should? Check for any DTC codes with a scan tool. Some codes can set and not turn on dash light. Just some thoughts off the top.
Seems like I remember reading other members having erratic temp readings here and solutions were found. Don't remember what they were though.

No codes tripped. I installed a new 194° thermostat (I'm assuming what I replaced, was still original, 2014 w/29k miles in January). I was trying to find a screen that displayed a digital coolant temp reading. I run (S)port mode about 99% of the time. I just came across some older forum articles that, mentioned this screen was found when in (T)ouring mode. I did not drive the C7 today but, will take a shot at this tomorrow to see if this is true. Or maybe this was offered after the 2014 model(?). I have plans to do a radiator flush but that will not be for a while. I was hoping to do this when I do my next oil change (currently at about 50% life on the oil).
You added 1 1/2 liters of water and no coolant? When you add, it needs to be 50% 50% ish, coolant/water. Seems like a lot. Make sure you are looking at the correct temp. The C7 has a number of readings. My 2014 runs at 220* +- coolant temp all the time, far right large gauge.

You're right - the coolant level is a bit difficult to see where it should be. May have to eventually mark mine at the correct level.

With the overflow tank right next to the fuse box (combined with my poor vision), this seems like a very poor for design for, what is a pretty important aspect to keep tabs on. I just wish the viewing access was better.
I tried to find that particular gauge display. Either I do not have that option, or I'm looking in the correct display option. I have a 2014 Stingray so, maybe this is on a different model or year? Of course, the question I would have with your display is, which reading is correct (assuming only one is)?

I nicely colored my level indicator on the tank with a black permanent marker to help me see it. BUT if you look in the tank, there is a small "landing" in the shape of a halfish circle. I don't have a picture, but it's right there under the lid. The top of that is basically at the same level as the level indicator on the outside of the tank.
What temp is being shown displayed as "Engine"? If this is not the coolant, then what is it? I can access gauges for oil temp and trans cooler temp as well but, I haven't yet found the 'Engine" temp one.

i believe in gages, where there is some movement, hence the 5 digital gages, not so much with the analog presentation!!

i'm also pretty sure you have this configuration!!
