Default What exactly does the Soler Performance Throttle Controller do?

I know that quite a few of you have installed this mod, but how does it improve the performance of a C7 (or any car it is in)?

I see that once installed, you can choose to drive your car in numerous modes, like "comfort," "sport," and "drag race," but the Corvette already comes with driving options like those.

How does the Soler Performance Throttle Controller differ from the factory settings?

What, exactly, does it do that improves performance?

It changes the throttle progression. More gas with less pedal travel. It also has a setting for valet mode which limits how much throttle is used no matter how much pedal is applied. Can also disable throttle completely. The car will start but no throttle at all. I love mine!

Hi there,

Great question! While the C7 (and many modern vehicles) already come with driving modes like Comfort, Sport, and Track, these modes primarily adjust multiple aspects of the car, such as steering feel, suspension stiffness, and throttle response—but they do so within factory-set limits.

The Soler Performance Throttle Controller allows you to fine-tune throttle response beyond what the factory settings offer. Here’s how it differs and enhances performance:

Eliminates Throttle Lag – Factory throttle mapping often has a built-in delay for smoothness and fuel efficiency. Our controller removes this delay, giving you instant acceleration when you press the pedal.

Customizable Response – Unlike factory drive modes, which apply fixed throttle settings, our controller lets you choose from multiple levels of sensitivity, including Comfort, Sport, and Drag Race, tailoring the response to your exact preference.

Enhances Driving Feel – Even in Sport or Track mode, the stock throttle response isn’t as aggressive as it could be. With our controller, you get a sharper response, making the car feel more connected and alive.

No Impact on Factory ECU or Warranty – Since it works by modifying the signal between the accelerator pedal and the ECU (without altering factory programming), it is completely reversible and warranty-safe.

We also offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can test it out risk-free—although in our experience, once customers try it, they never go back!

As a bonus, use discount code TIFF5OFF for 5% off your order. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Best,

I installed both the Soler throttle body and throttle controller on my 2017 Stingray. It felt like a completely different car. Throttle was much more responsive and acceleration off the line was noticeably better. Part throttle acceleration was also improved. I could press the gas and get immediate response. In stock form, there was noticeable lag at all throttle settings.

YEPYEPYEP. Same here with me, with both items installed.

I had the same results when I installed both items on my car. Well worth the money IMO.

So one without the other is probably a waste of time and money?

No. I bought the TC first, and the acceleration difference was immediately noticeable and very enjoyable.

The addition of the TB took care of off-idle hesitation.

The TC gives the biggest performance bang for the buck; the TB gets rid of an annoying characteristic.

Great summary.

Thank you!

As others have said, it eliminates throttle lag. I am impressed with the way my Corvette almost jumps when I hit the gas pedal. It is adjustable and can even be set to anti-theft mode, which disables the gas pedal in case someone tries to steal your car by driving away with it.

Thanks. I own a modified 2019 Z06, automatic with 650 RWHP (cam, headers, etc). When I launch at the drag strip there is a lag (1/2 second??) between the accelerator hitting the floor and the car actually moving. Other than this it has excellent response. A few times the same lag has occurred on the 1-2 shift.
Do you think your controller will have any effect on this problem? My tuner thinks he has made all the adjustments he can (without completely removing torque management).
Thanks.

I only have the controller. I have noticed a positive difference in the throttle response. Several other members in our Corvette club have had the same results. Everyone that has one in their C7 (or C8) is pleased with the results.

Based on my results, and several other folks in our Corvette club, I think it would eliminate that lag. However, my Stingray is stock.

I just installed the throttle controller the other day after procrastinating for a while. I'm glad I did. The throttle response is sooo much better. I think I'm going to have them install the throttle body at Corvette's at Carlisle this year.

1. Had someone tell me that the TC would prevent the car from starting when it is turned off. 2. My understanding is, from what I've read here, is that if the throttle is turned off the car will still start but the thieves will be leaving very slowly.

1 or 2?

Your help appreciated.

A friend and I installed the Solar Throttle Controller in my 2016 Stingray a few months ago. The throttle response is so much better that it is like a different car. When it is placed in the anti-theft mode, the car will start, but it acts like the gas pedal does not work. You can press it, but the car just idles.

I only had the throttle body. Loved it. I noticed a slight bump in 'get up n go' and a touch more throaty growl from the exhaust/engine note. Never got around to getting the controller. I did install software from a canned Diablo tune which solved MY throttle lag.

My car was a 2015 Z51 M7
