Why would you need additive? GM says to use additives if you can't find top tier gas.

If I feel the need to use one, I use Techron. I usually dump a bottle in twice a year or so. I also try to use top tier fuel.

I like Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner or BG Platinum 44K Fuel System Cleaner.

The only fuel additives that work are PEA based, more specifically Amine based fuel additives as they give a level of detergent to the fuel. Chevron Techron, Redline SL1, etc.

The only additive I ever did was torco nothing else is needed. Many of todays gasolines have so much detergents that there’s no need. Unless. You have early direct port injection technology. They tend to get gunky but if you’re under warranty I’d have the dealership deal with that. But if you’re driving spirited much of that gunk goes away. Have a buddy master mechanic says that the best way to keep the gunk off early direct port tech is make sure you’re driving spirited every so often.

Best additive.... for WHAT? Storage? Performance boost?

I used to store my cars in the winter up north and used Sta-bil. Never had any issues. Down here in Fla. I drive it all year so I don't add anything. But the ONLY fuel it sees is Mobil 93 oct.

Sorry to hear that man. In that case, I'd probably use an octane booster, although GM says 91 is fine.

91 is fine and if you are using Top Tier gas you are getting all the detergent you need. Maybe a bottle of Techron at each oil change.

Have you looked for high octane fuel there?
From the current C7 manual:
"Using unleaded gasoline rated below 93 octane, however, will lead to reduced acceleration and fuel economy. If knocking occurs, use a gasoline rated at 93 octane as soon as possible, otherwise, the engine could be damaged".

Just use a very high quality Top Tier gas like Shell or Costco and you won't need any additives

To be clear, Techron should be used in your last tank of gas PRIOR to the oil change. And to be even more clear, burn up that tank of gas prior to the oil change.

91 vs 93 - When traveling NW from DFW I usually see the octane switch (93 to 91) in the Amarillo area. If my memory is working at all, after that it seems like 98% 91 octane.
