Discount Tire has provided and installed all of the TPMS sensors for all of my GM cars for over 15 years with no issues whatsoever.

Thank you all for responding in detail. So in my situation, the car being 6 years and new front tires at 5 years, I will most likely be replacing the rear tires in 6-18 months with new rear TPMS units and then do the front units when I replace the fronts again.

Thanks for all the feedback about your experiences with lifespan and off brand sensors!

Has anyone actually run them to years?
18 years in my C5 and as far as I know they were the originals which would add another 5 yrs to that. Still working perfectly when I sold it.

My C6 had a flaky unit that would drop out occasionally at only 4 years.

I switch back an forth between summer an all season tires. Summer tires are on original black zo6 rims. So original sensors. I've driven 122 miles and still don't have pressure readings. It's never taken this long to get readings. 2015 ZO6. So 10 yrs. Good thing is I'm getting new summer tires next week and 4 new sensors

That doesn't sound right. I believe I changed my sensors and had readings in under 22 miles.

I have two sets of wheels. My original factory 2015 sensors are still working today a decade out.
My 2nd set ALL FOUR died exactly at 5 years (last summer). Both were supposed to be OEM sensors but
hard to believe given the drastic difference in life.
Bottom line, my summer tires were on their last legs so I just lived with no sensors for a summer rather than
replace them only to need new tires 5 months later.
IMO you kind of need to just line it up with replacing the tires simply due to the headache of replacing them

Weird. I can get 1 sensor. All 4 at the same time? Only thing I can think of is that it's on an always transmit mode.
