Default Wheel question

Are the ZR1 reproduction wheels any stronger that the stock wheels on my GS? Looks like I may have a bent one I need to replace the set.

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it.

Forged wheels hold up better than cast wheels. The design is less important than the fabrication method.

I have ZR1 reproduction wheels on my car that were manufactured by Factory Reproductions. Have had them on the car since June 2019 with zero issues. But, mine are base car sizes so if you want to be sure on the cracking/bending problem, maybe best to get forged wheels.

Bear in mind too that cast reproductions are generally heavier than stock (or certainly forged).

I'm on this forum a lot and have read posts where the ZR1 wheels still bend and/or crack. As mentioned, just buy a set of aftermarket monoblock forged. There are some good vendors right on the forum that can help you with that. Oh just remembered that you had a Grand Sport. Wheel Designers is a forum vendor and they have forged monoblock wheels that are exact replicas of the stock Grand Sport wheels. They may have a little more aggressive offset. Love the GS wheel look. That's what I'd get.

FWIW, I replaced my GS OEM wheels after cracks were found in both right front and rear wheels. As a big fan of 5 point wheel design, I fell in love with a set of OEM rotary forged ZR1 wheels in carbon flash and have not cracked a wheel yet. And yes, I have hit some nasty potholes and survived. Of course, the next wheel balancing will be the true test for "out of round", but so far, so good and only $2,000 for the set of four.

Your ZE11s are close to factory, but I can't figure out where I'm going to put my stripe on the circumference of the wheel. If I could figure out how to make that look correct, I might be a buyer. I've got a rear with two cracks, but no leaks.

Apex has forged and also flow forged (strength is in between cast OEM and forged) for very reasonable prices. Cheaper that WD above.

Mine are forged.

Yes they offer pinstripe at the edge of the wheel as well it would be extra since they are using powder coat and not paint. But you could do the stripe yourself at the end of the edge
